Zero Dark Thirty Analysis (Institutional Affiliation) Zero Dark 30 is a thrilling action movie that involves the killing of the worlds most wanted man. Osama Bin Laden was the most wanted man on the face of the planet, and the film shows how they tracked and killed him in his house. The film has received five Oscar nominations that included the best picture. The film extensively covers the manhunt for the al -Qaeda. Zero dark thirty is a military term that means half past midnight, and it represents the time the navy seals landed in the compound of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. The movie stars Jessica Chastain, who acts as Maya, who is a CIA agent who works tirelessly to see the end of the al-Qaeda era. Mayas first experience was to interrogate the prisoner linked to the Al Qaeda group in the United States of America. The interrogation was about to the 2001 September 11 attacks on the U.S. Maya had a competitive theory of how she could beat the group. Maya has no friends outside her work, and it means she hunts Osama Bin Laden with a passion. She is determined to capture, and her superiors have no options but to grant her wishes. Maya stamina and determination is what drives the objective of the movie and it is the only passion represented in the film. Maya arrived in Afghanistan in 2003 with an aim of capturing the most wanted man on the face of the planet. Dan is in Afghanistan torturing prisoners into giving him information on the location of Al Qaeda operatives. Maya realizes that isolation and sleep denial is essential into tricking the prisoner that he gave up the information. The method works in favor of Maya, and she gets the name of a man believed to be Osamas courier. There have been numerous false leads in the attempts to capture Osama, and it makes the capture of the man more futile. The many bombings and suicide across Afghanistan indicate that the group will not give up without a fight. The suspect gives them Abu Ahmed, who works as a messenger for Osama. Maya finds suspects of with coded names and suicide bombers who know how to find their way through the United States safety zones. Maya locates an individual who she believes is a courier for Al-Qaeda. She establishes a link between the terrorists and it moves the movie at a methodical pace. She conducts her research and pops suspense in the movie directed by Bigelow. Maya does research in Pakistan and finds the house in Pakistan that hosts Osama. Bigelow stages a raid on the compound of Osama and brings a classic thriller to the movie. The Navy seals blow open doors to navigate through the house and find Osamas assistants and wives. The soldiers kill any individual who draws a gun and kill Osama Bin Laden. The soldiers died and carried the body of Osama to the superiors for confirmation. Political Nature of Zero Dark Thirty The political character of the United States government is democratic; it is a government of the people by the people. Citizens elect their officials through a free and fair elections conducted in four years. A democratic government respects the rights of individuals especially the rights of workers and religious freedom. In the movie, we see torture used to extract information from the prisoner. It goes against what America as a society believes in because the culture of American individuals. The movie depicts a system where state individuals make crucial decisions and not the individuals elected to office (Lunis & Pushies, 2012). Maya chooses to make decisions on behalf of the government. It is hard to terminate her contract due to the decisions she made in the movie. It is a full-time job, and she dedicates most of her time in man hunting Osama Bin Laden. The film depicts the political nature of the United States government because in the recent past they have had an interest in the Middle East. Their interest rose after the attacks of September 2001, led by the leader of Al-Qaeda. A group of senators argued that the movie does not show the real events that happened. They claim that the film is inaccurate and misleads the viewers. The senators urged Sony Pictures, the company responsible for the distribution of the film to consider correcting the impression of the film (Herman & Finkelman, 2008). The film shows that the government had a large impact on the events that happened in the film. Rationality Rationality is situations where decisions are made based on the result that ends at the most optimal level. Actions determine the decisions raised by the reasoning of individuals and with accordance to the facts of persons. Reasoning consistently results in individuals making decisions basing on their personal judgment. Maya made a rational decision that made her determine the house in Pakistan where Osama was hiding. The logical thinking of Maya, the CIA agent, enables her to locate the terrorist with ease. Every individual that Maya works with has given up in the search for Osama. The Navy Seals at the raid decide to kill the individuals who went ahead and withdrew a gun from them. It means that they reasoned rationally not to kill the helpless women and children in the house during the raid (Hasian, 2013). The capture of the Al-Qaeda courier result in the movie indicates a high level of rational thinking. The agents are intelligent because they get information from the individual that they capture. The capture of the courier was to maximize the chances of reaching the objectives of the group or the movie (Goldfarb, 2014). The purpose of the film was to capture and bring justice to the individual responsible for the attacks in September 2001. Logical reasoning, the government decides to end the life of Osama. It was to minimize the attacks on the United States environs. The government decides to think rationally and reduce this effect by ending the life of Osama. Accountability It is the situation where individuals are responsible for the activities they execute. It is an obligation for the individuals to take responsibility for the actions in Pakistan. Maya and her colleagues are responsible for the capture of Osama. They are entitled to make rational decisions that will enable them capture Osama because they are accountable for their actions. The government is responsible for the security of its citizens. It takes full responsibility for failure of protecting its citizens. According to the movie, the government organizes a team of experts that will head to Pakistan to capture of the most wanted man in the World (Saul, 2012). Maya, Dan, and their colleagues are responsible for the capture. The feeling and drive of accountability inspires the soldiers to enforce change in their country. In relation to the movie, the task force given the responsibility to capture was efficient in the capture of the terrorist leader. The group accomplishes the task without wasting any time and resources. In the movie, they efficiently captured and killed Osama in his compound in Abbottabad Pakistan. Despite the mishap of the helicopter, the team manages to get into the house and capture their target. The Navy Seals efficiently captured the terrorist according to the time assigned to them by their superiors. There is no detective work in the movie to illustrate how the Navy Seals and Maya arrived at the house of their target (Saul, 2012). The video does not show Maya conducting any detective work. The group is in a foreign country, and they use resources efficiently towards their objectives. In conclusion, Maya had a competitive theory of how she could beat the group. Maya conducts research in Pakistan and finds the house in Pakistan that hosts Osama.
