Valley of Saints Movie Review Movies portray a message that relates to the societies and the economies that human beings operate. The social differences from ranging races across the globe have driven producers to focus on such with an aim of teaching the audience. Movie reviewers have on various occasions assisted in guiding the audience to watch a movie or made the audience less interested especially when the reviewers discredits the plot and message of the film. Film Critic Roger Ebert ranks among the primary critics and the paper examines the review of Valley of Saints by Elbert and comparing it with that of the researcher.
A focus on the critics by the researcher and Ebert is done on Valley of Saints movie. With Guzlar, Afzal and Asifa as the three main characters, Syeed purposively and successfully exposes the political situation and repercussions of India in Kashmir a poor Interior location. His background and experience plays a significant role in ensuring he delivers one of the best prose reflecting on bad politics and the consequences. As a result of poverty and war arising from political instability within the state of Kashmir, Guzlar with his friend Afzal who is more like a friend decides to free the city of Kashmir (Trigon-Film 2014).
Although the two has love for their village as a result of friendly neighborhoods and the aspect of beauty possessed by the locals, the political tensions, and continuous wars force them to run away from home. Working as a boatman, Guzlar earns through crossing tourists across his lake Village Dal Lake. However, due to continued wars between separatists and soldiers, a curfew forces his earnings to come to an end. The two young men brotherhood relationship is more linked to them sharing a common tragedy of being orphaned as a result of the war.
In the course of their escape while trapped in the lake due to the military crackdown, they notice Asifa, an American researcher, Guzlar falls for her and consequent Afzal love for her too causes the two young men to fight almost ruining their childhood friendship. Lastly, choices are between running away and lose Asifa or continue with their friendship. In Roger Elbert review, the movie is a success based on exposure of the social aspect, political and environmental conditions Kashmir. The film mostly revolves around a love triangle where two young men Guzlar and Afzal fall for one woman.
The situation is contrasting as the woman is older than the two, an American scientist out on research while the two are running away as a result of political violence (Mozaffer 2015). As they get stuck in Del Lake, their own village lake as a result of military operations in the village, their growing love for Asifa almost separate them. The movie ends with the two young men trying to make decisions about whether to run away or stick to their once peaceful village and also seeking whether something else could be holding them back.
The messages found by both the researcher and Ebert relates to love between the two young men with a mission of running away from their one beloved village as a result of political unrest. Another significant similarity is the role of Asifa as a mean to contrast between nations with political freedoms and those with political turmoil. On the overall, the researcher and Ebert focus on the major episodes within the movie but with a different presentation and attention regarding the same. When the public is to make decisions regarding whether to watch the film, they will find the researchers review most useful.
It is attributed to the fact that, while Ebert focused more on making the movie a love triangle, the researcher exposes the love story as a political aspect. Based on facts on political instability at Kashmir, political direction of review of the events will drive the public to watch the movie. Works Cited Valley of Saints. Trigon-Film, 2014. Film.
