There are key differences between two installations of given kinds of art presented in a given paper by using the background of Hitler’s influence in Germany. To start with, even the names of these two kinds of art reflect the opposite attitude of people who defined them. In this context, in November 1933 Minister of Propaganda Goebbels established a number of special departments that control activities in all cultural spheres (Barron 10). This means that the division between these styles of creating artworks was made as the result of their political importance or impropriety.

That is the reason why it cannot be taken for granted that one piece of art is really degenerate and another one is really great. All these labels were stick on artworks as a result of Nazi control over the cultural life in Germany. On the one hand, the name of “Degenerate Art” occurred because of an opinion circulating in power elite that some pieces of art are not real art but actually the “corruption of art” (“Degenerate Art”). And so, the title of the art refers to the arrogant and scornful treatment on the works of several artists.

Therefore, it was created in order to raise same emotions in public. But, whereas “Great German Art” exhibition was more preferable for National Socialists, Degenerate Art became more interesting for people. In particular, while both exhibitions were highly popular in the country, Entartete Kunst (German name of Degenerate Art) was seen by five times more people than Grosse Deutsche Kunstaussiellung (German name of “Great German Art”) (Barron 9).
