Geodemographic systems use the collective profile of a community in a small area in order to assess the most likely characteristics of people. With increased research on the subject, clustering techniques developed which assisted in statistically categorizing neighbourhoods into groups that shared similar characteristics (Spielman & Thill, 2008).
This exercise was carried out to get familiarization with use of SPSS in data generation and statistical analysis. The data generated using SPSS is attached as appendix ‘A’ to this report. SPSS was used to carry out the descriptive analysis of the data generated for two variables each having a sample size of 30 i.e., N=30 as shown below in table 1.
For the purposes of the study, a total of 300 students were emailed the questionnaire and requested to answer several questions, divided into sections. Evaluation of Method A probability sample was obtained through a prospective survey, in which it was estimated that 33% of the respondents would either fail to report back useable responses or they would not respond to the survey questions at all.
The table given above depicts the percentages of responses by students, namely pre-service science teachers, on a Diffusion and Osmosis and Particle nature of matter, DO & PT diagnostic test. The table gives us a detailed description of their answers, all of which consist of two parts, the answer to the question, and the reason for the answer.
