Julio Cesar Chavez Gonzalez Introduction: Julio Cesar Senior having full name as Julio Cesar Chavez Gonzalez came into this world on 12th July 1962 in Obregon, Sonora, Mexico (Bio.). He is one of the renowned and famous professional boxers of Mexico and world light weight champion. With 5 ft 7.5̋ height and around 116-152 pounds weight, he has enjoyed the position of one of Mexico’s most popular sports figures for many years. Family Background: Julio Cesar father named Rodolfo Chavez has been giving his services as a railroad worker and he himself was raised in a discarded and redundant rail road car along with four more brothers and five sisters (Bio.). He embraced boxing as a professional career at very juvenile age. His older brother took him to gym where he learned different skills and proficiency. So in 1980 when he was only sixteen, he had his first match and only after the short span of four years he has snatched his first title World Boxing Council’s version of the junior light weight championship. Qualities-As a wrestler: Chavez was a highly talented and a clever fighter who gave hard punches and possessed a persistent belligerence in the whole session. When counting the titles collected by him, he bares long lists for accomplishments and achievements. His triumph includes the WBC Light Welter weight Championship, , the WBC Lightweight Championship, the IBF Light Welterweight Championship, the WBA Light weight Championship and the WBC Super Feather weight Championship (Melissa). He holds world records for most successful defenses of world titles i.e. 27 times, most title fights i.e. 37 times, most title fights victories i.e. 31 times, and he is ranked second after Joe Louis with title defenses won by knockout 21 times instead of 23 times of Joe Louis. he has the longest un-beatable streak in the history of boxing world i.e. 13 years (Bill).  Professional Carrier: Chavez decided to take the start as a friendly boxer and this pro boxing career ended on February 5, 1980 when he banged Andres Felix in his debut. By the year 1983, he was already having thirty seven matches with his name without losing even one. Chavez series of fights that were broadcasted in United State of America and his record of 44/Nil assisted him gaining an attempt at WBC super feather weight title which was given up by a former boxer Hector Camacho. After winning nine successive defenses of his title, Chavez decided to go a bit higher in ranking and it was in November, 1987 when he not only faced Edwin Rosario in a session for the  light weight title but also succeeded it very dedicatedly. After eleven months of achieving this new honor, he won another title which was the WBC light weight title in which Jose Ramirez has to face defeat. In May 1989, Chavez invited for fight to Roger Mayweather giving himself an try to get the light welter weight title back. Chavez had already once faced Mayweather when he was on verge of defending his World Boxing Championship super feather weight title and just had he won previously, he won this time too. His third consecutive defense of his title was when in 1990, he challenged himself to amalgamate this WBC light welter weight title with the Taylor's Inter Boxing Federation light welter weight title. This is an unprecedented and innovative trend at that time in boxing and Chavez utilizing his expertise and skills snatched and won both titles. In September 1993, Chavez was deeply surrounded by one more controversial fight. He fought together for the World Boxing Championship Welter weight Title and, for “pound for pound” championship. This fight in opposition to Whitaker earned him a arduous victory. However a majority consensus over this is that he would have never won the result of conquest, had not he be supported by Don King who has a major influence. The First Defeat: Finally Chavez lost his being unbeatable record in January 1994. In this match he had to face Frankie Randall. This brawl bought the foremost defeat of his career and for the very first time in his life carrier he has to lose his World Boxing Championship light welter weight belt. However, in the month of May of the same year, he re-gained his title from Randall after a forced stop of fight because of a head butt. After that he also offered an attempt at his title to Taylor, although being a tad delayed for that re-match, he won his match with the power of his punches. This boosted his confidence and he looked ahead for more success. In June, 1996, a super fight was arranged between him and an imminent future celebrity Oscar Hoya. Having his World Boxing Championship light welter weight title on stalk, Chavez has to suffer the subsequent second defeat of his boxing career. In this fight he experienced a sharp cut, which ended the fight between two. He afterwards re-gained his title back after some time. Sun rise of March 1998 witnessed an official draw match between Gonzalez and Chavez and the fresh winner cannot be determined. Thereafter in September 1998 Chavez’s re-match was arranged with Hoya and at this incident the Hoya's was victorious and the WBC welter weight title went to him. The tussle went for eight sessions and then Chavez's side had to stop the match because of another bad cut on his lip (USA today). After series of certain small fights, Chavez prepared himself for one more title attempt. This time Kostya Tszyu presented him an opportunity to snatch his old World Boxing Championship light weight title back, but the audience and the whole world infact left highly surprised when Chavez has to face defeat by a wrong and un just decision. The fortune was no longer supporting him and he continued to face defeat two more defeats in the quest of gaining his title back From year 2000 to 2003, Chavez had a single fight. The determination and the passion inside him kept him alive and he badly wanted to take revenge of his loss against Willy Wise prior to planning for retirement in good name. It was back in November 2003, he saw his dream coming true and he won his title back although the win was achieved with high difficulty (Encyclopedia Britannica). Retirement: It was in the month of May 2005, when Chavez made it through on his goodbye explore, where Ivan Robinson has been beaten by him in LosAngeles. However in the continuation of whole fight, he suffered an injury on hand that has resulted in his termination for boxing carrier. He was enforced to get retire and could not continue any other match. He waited patiently for months but as the hand was not recovering much, Chavez in Jan 2006, ultimately announced his retirement from boxing. Conclusion: So, altogether Chavez possessed a firm solid chin, overwhelming and devastating amalgamation of punches, devastating and inexorable attacking style. He is ranked among the greatest boxers. However, his image has been tarnished to a certain extent after rumors of excessive drinking and a consistent series of comments that are against the values of true sports man spirit after losing key matches had. In 2011 Chavez was honored into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. The future plan for Chavez now is on assisting Julio Chavez Junior his son, in making his profession and also doing work on a movie covering his biography. References: Bio.
