The PSFS building located in Philadelphia, PA is one of the most remarkable works of art in this area. It is an international stylish skyscraper thatwas developed by Philadelphia Saving Fund Society between the periods of 1930 and 1932. It is 492 ft in height. With regard to the media, the PSFS building is mainly glass and steel held together by concrete. From a first look, one can easily confirm that the design follows the portrait layout making it a tall building. This is one of the features that make the building standout among other buildings. It depicts a piece of art that had been well designed to match the exact mental imagery of the designers. It can also be said to represent the minds of many Philadelphia people especially from the perspective of creativity. This is because of the remarkable landmarks available in this area. The exact materials used to make the building include but not limited to brass, copper, glass, glazed brick, and Stainless steel. While the glass is working to ensure the continued beautification of the building, other factors were in play such as stainless steel that was seriously working on the strength as well as the durability of the building. The PSFS building is free standing and strategically placed to fulfill the duties that it was originally put up for. With regard to iconography of the structure, the building can be said to have three main parts that make it unique in the area. Here, the structure appears as if the lower part, which is the widest and protruding, is separate from the rest of the building. The west part of the building also appears distinct from the other part of the building in that it is even taller than the main building. This can be said to be the flanked art of the building. This style makes it the only building with a distinctive sand unique style in Philadelphia. It can also be easily spotted even by an outsider because it bears its name at the top most part. The name has been placed strategically especially according to the structure of the building.it has a stair-like style at the top which facilitated positioning of the letters. With regard to composition, the key component that an individual can observe by just looking at the building is the windowpanes although the weight of the building is supported by steel in large scale. Most art features that make a work of art attractive have also been utilized. For instance, hue and color saturation have not been used in excess. With regard to spacing, the building sits on a large piece of land with approximately 374,000 sq ft. From an observation perspective, the intensity of the building has also been balanced out. This has enabled the establishment of an attractive piece of art. The building has managed to showcase its illusionism nature especially through its style. The type of the building can be said to be linear as it does not meet the requirements for a painterly building. Moreover, the PSFS building is idealistic. While most buildings are naturalized, this building is idealized and realistic. When looking at the building, once can see these factors in the style that was used during its design. As per the requirement of the assignment, this building is similar in some manner to the Cesar Pelli. It is appropriate to assess the components of the Cesar Pelli. It is a portrait shaped building located in Kuala Lupar. It is one of the best twin buildings that exist in the area. Cesar Pelli can also be said to have mostly comprised of glasses. This is then bound together with the rest of the building mostly through utilization of steel and concrete. The building contains two similarly shaped towers that act as office places. Both of these buildings are comprised mostly of glass. In addition, these buildings are bound by concrete. Both buildings present different uniqueness areas. While the PSFS appears like it has a separate base and the Western wing, Caeser Pelli building is not a free stander. This implies that the latter building has new and additional features that are becoming common among architects and artists. This is the two-block style of constructing a building. This implies that the latter building is essentially two buildings that are joined by a bridge for people to cross through the two buildings. The times when the two pieces of art were made are also different. For instance, the Cessar Pelli was made in 1998 while the PSFS building was completed in the year 1932. Given the time difference in the construction of the two buildings, it is appropriate to state that the area of Philadelphia is gifted from the perspective of creativity. This is mostly because of the similarities that can be seen between the two given the time difference. Another key similarity is the base of the two buildings. While the PSFS has an extended base, the same can be seen for the Cesar Pelli. Both buildings occupy a large area. While PSFS appears to be shorter than other newer buildings in the country, the Cesar Pelli appears taller than all the buildings in the region. The tops of the two buildings are also very different. This can be seen from the perspective of the upper most finishing. While the PSFS has an open upper end, the Cesar Pell has a complete N shaped end. In addition, while the Caesar Pelli is futuristic in appearance while the Cesar Pelli is realistic and idealized. Moreover, Cesar Pelli is circular in shape while the other building is rectangular. This implies that there are many differences between the two buildings although all are modern type designs offering the best services for those assigned or working within them. Therefore, these two art works represent the best minds at creativity in the modern day world. The appropriateness of design has enabled these buildings, in spite of the weight, to withstand any effect that may come from weather changes. Read More
