Humans and Society Question According to the speech, we can say that it is not naive; instead, it is vital for business leaders to be honest. ‘Beyond the personal sense of satisfaction, having a reputation for fair dealing is a profoundly practical virtue’. (Greenspan, 1999). The statement illustrates why business personals need to not only mind their attention on profits but also concentrate on creating better customer relations (Greenspan, 1999). For any economy, there is the need for developed trust between its individuals that starts at ground level. The exchange between customers and businesspersons is the lowest level for this case; therefore, the good relation will ascertain mutual beneficial exchange. We have to understand that in today’s world, new minds in the market are setting new ideas that are important for their reputation, inconsiderate of production. Consequently, having a good reputation entrusts more individuals towards your products, which not only improves personal business image but the economy at large (Greenspan, 1999). Question 2 Self-control has a connection with the mind and body. Often, humans are unable to control emotions such as anger, love and mood due to the inability to coordinate their brain with the body activity. In the psychological point of view, easing stress, changing the perspective of events and focusing on personal goals boosts self-control. ‘It might be better to avoid grand Visions and concentrate on the glory of coping’ (Keen. 1994). Foremost, when stressed, it takes a shorter period to get angry. It happens so because, stress acts as a barrier to normal thinking and as a result, one might not be able to control their emotions. Therefore, there is need to maintain harmony with brain activities to ease stress. Moreover, one can change the perspective of an event. You can take things in the simplest way to avoid creating an issue from another. Finally, always focus on personal goals as the drive of life (Keen, 1994). Occupied minds are easy to control than the minds always wondering in panic. Question 3 Before I could pass my gratitude to family, teachers, friends and relatives in a general way, let me take the opportunity to just echo on special characters. From my grandmother Jackeline, I developed the attitude of moving forward even when things did not move my way. From my father Dickson, I learnt to focus on my goals and avoid being drawn by setbacks on the way. From my uncle Ken, he taught me how to handle difficult situations on my own. From my beloved mother, I knew the importance of being kind and charitable to the society. She always emphasizes on putting myself in others shoes (Baltzly, 2013). From my pre-school teacher, I learnt good manners and differentiating the right from wrong. From my brother Alexander, I learnt how to care for other siblings irrespective of how they treated me. From my childhood friend Petty I noted the vitality of living in harmony with others while making my life interesting. They are important milestones in my life. I manage to make personal decisions because of that. They helped me to not only mature but also create a better future (Aurelius, 2009). Question 4 Lincoln faced many challenges on his helm as a leader but to many surprises, he emerged victoriously. He had developed various strategies that helped him learn how to cope with depression on pressing matters (Abraham Lincoln Online, 2015). Foremost, never had fear in expressing his emotions in public. For instance, ‘He often wept in public and recited maudlin poetry’ (Shenk, 2005). The act helped him to control the internal depression that was pressuring his tenure (Shenk, 2005). Maudlin poetry helped him to share with the society yet at the same time easing the pressure he currently holds on his seat as a politician. He took his life events from worse to better to cover up its course. Moreover, after noticing that his depression was heading to another level, he decided to visit frequently his doctor who helped him a lot to manage it (Shenk, 2005). Question 5 Personally, I disagree with that emphasizing that it should be “pursuit of pleasure.” Happiness is a collective term that means better standards of living and improved way of life for the whole community. However, Declaration of Independence in most cases only benefits a few political leaders who seem to have fought for Independence. A small percentage of the population enjoys its fruits while the rest are left out just to echo about it. Pleasure dates to the politicians who never bother how other citizens are faring on. Their sole duty is to ensure their families and friends benefit at others cost. Question 6 A Judges have to care about plagiarized written motives. It is because, in a professional field, individuals need to learn to use previous court proceedings to come up with their own motives. As an Attorney, plagiarizing your motives sinuate that your qualifications are vague. B The punishment according to the court of law is about right. Attorneys spend much time in the school of law learning how cases and filed and presented. Therefore, they have no excuse to copy others idea in their cases. C It remained evident that Cannon intentionally made omission and copied specific parts of Schrag and Haunt publication (AIS, 2015). From the statement, the court took Cannon’s matter lightly due to the omission of some passages. In the other case, the victim did paste the whole article. D Public shaming is too harsh for a professional lawyer. They need to set a distinct panel that will just correct such behaviours. Exposing such instances to public dooms the job of lawyers. Question 7 Rampant cases of academic dishonesty are reported across the globe. As students, we need to take certain measures to avoid such instances that may ruin our careers. Foremost, there is need of integrity. Such integrity demands personal honesty. The virtue helps to transit pessimism to optimism. Moreover, students need to take academic materials provided for a certain course seriously. They should countercheck their work before presenting. Consequently, they need to avoid laziness. It is the key to such behaviours. They have to learn to work hard to attain the best. Question 8 According to Terrence Des Pres human moral sense is an evolutionary survival strategy. He says that, ‘the survivor is the figure who emerges from all those who fought for life in the concentration camps, and the most significant fact about their struggle is that it depended on fixed activities: on forms of social bonding and interchange, on collective resistance, on keeping dignity and moral sense active’ (Des Pres, 2015). ‘That such thoroughly human kinds of behavior were typical in places like Buchenwald and Auschwitz amounts to a revelation reaching to the foundation of what man is’ (Des Pres, 2015). ‘Facts such as these discredit the claims of nihilism and suggest, further, that when men and women must face months and years of death-threat they endure less through cultural than through biological imperatives’ (Des Pres, 2015). I do agree with him on the fact that, over the years morals have changed in the society basing on evolutionary survival. Those who could easily adapt automatically survived in the new environment. Just as natural selection, human behaviour undergoes the same process. Question 9 A good life is defined as kind of exploitation living that involves setting up goals, making strategies and striving to achieve them at the end. I have been setting personal goals all along. I ensure that I inquire for guidance where necessary to ensure that am always on the right path. I always present honest work in each step as a way of grabbing opportunities that come on the way. It has been my aim to have a better future that can be created now.
