Development of social network in America How development of social network affects American population cultures. The social network becomes a characteristic feature of in or everyday lives especially in the globalizing society that we live in today (Baumann, 89). Social network provides an avenue whereby people across the globe can communicate, share ideas through messages and interact with one another notwithstanding the distance involved. As much as values around the world put more emphasis on the individual traditions, beliefs and standards that make them unique; the social network connects people from the different cultural background. Social network is vital to life in the American population. It is because, social network promote interconnectedness and interdependence of the culturally varied world. Media and social interaction give Americans an avenue to obtain the information that is on the net related to their culture and those other ethnic backgrounds. That factor is enhanced because today there are several users of social media thus promoting dialog and mutual understanding. The social network gives people opportunity to publish that which they feel is for the benefits of others. Moreover, there is a room for criticism over the publications that other people post in the social media sites. Furthermore, the social network has been used by The United States as a way of sensitizing its population on the cultural norms that the country the country embraces. It is a real realization that most of the people in America spend a lot of time in the social media. Therefore, it is here where the government of US posts the commentaries. These aim towards embracing its values and customs. An example of social media that has the significant impact on American people is the Facebook. It brings the diverse American populace together. It promotes interaction among the American people. Social media creates a common place for exchanging ideas, opinions and information. A great number of people use the social media to communicate. Nonetheless, social media continue to improve the social mas well as the economic lives of the Americans. Social media such as YouTube are paramount tools for promotion and marketing of products. Therefore, potential customers can view the services or products from a distance. It has led to increments of net sales of American products in the whole world. Another vital social media is the Twitter. It influences the intercultural dialog since several people in America focus on the discrete lives of other people and has the aspiration for linking as well as the knowledge of occasions. Twitter as an example of social media has shortened the links of distance into knowing what somebody is undertaking without physical communication to them face to face. Subsequently, the Internet has turn out to be one of the most widespread media that most American immigrants use to communicate back home (Baumann, 93). Communicating back with the family is too easy with the social media. By electronic means, they can interconnect with their family members and friends in their innate countries as well as with the indigenous general public in the host nations. In an online environment, the social communication of the host countries and the traditional social communication are imperative components. They can expedite or encumber adaptation. Social media partakes a social, physical, and cultural impact on intercultural variation. Internet convention of social media sites influences the change process in Americans. On the other hand, social media can lead to erosion of cultural practices among the people in America. Nowadays accessibility to most of the sites is not as difficult as it used to be. People have the freedom to get to these sites as they wish. It promotes the interaction with people from various ethnic backgrounds, leading to sharing of ideas among themselves. In such a case, therefore, one can choose what best fits him without having to pay attention to what his native country embraces. For instance when American picks a culture that impresses him, he goes ahead and share it other people from the region. Therefore, you find that a given culture or custom that Americans don’t embrace has become very popular in the country. At the same time when Americans interact with people on the internet, they imprint individual digital records related to their social way of life. The intensification of social media is an excellent tool to remedy some established gender and ethnic inequities in the professions such information technology and computing. Representation of women and other minority groups such as the handicapped, the American Indians, the poor among others, has long been poor. However, as the social media advances, there is a high demand for trained personnel. This shortage in the social media creates jobs for the minority groups. The services of the minority are in great need. Fields such as computational social sciences and digital humanities are areas that highly demand services of the minority. Moreover, the minority that could not do other tasking jobs can best fit in the areas since they answer need. These areas pull from grounds that have traditionally engrossed women and minorities and the change in the direction of social computing will make IT more comprehensive in the forthcoming generations as it is today. Women and subgroups have quite a lot to give and having a populace of technology creators that is more contemplative of the population of technology consumers would be prodigious for the whole world. The contribution of women and the minority in the fields is quite immense. Their endeavors have made America a boundless nation. For the first time, social media and networks have made the world comprehend and reap the benefits of the minority in the world. Their contribution is quite outstanding. Nonetheless, social nets have great impacts in the fields of education. Learning has become easier. For instance retrieving and getting information as well as books from libraries has become easier. Social networks narrow the gap between prospective library users. Communication between library users and the librarian has become very efficient. Students can book space in libraries online thus saving time and improving their performance. Through social networks, the services offered by the school libraries have stretched. In addition, social networks ease the research work. Information is easily available in the internets. Researchers can quickly retrieve the information thus wasting less time in search of information. They save their time and complete their research works in time. For a long period research work has been quite cumbersome. A researcher had to move from place to place to search for information. It was both time-consuming and costly. The tedious process discouraged many from furthering their studies. The costs involved alongside the time made many to lose hope. However, with the advancement in technology, information is in the internet. Social media makes retrieving the information very easy. There is the high enrollment of students in higher learning institutions. America now has significant number of personnel for their industries. Many students opt to enroll for their master and Ph.D. studies since there are fewer barriers as compared to the ancient enrollment. The increased skills are very vital for any nation. A country with knowledge and skills has significant production thus improved the economy. The amount of output increases and products fetch high prices in the world market. The situation makes America one of the most major world nations. On the other hand, social network characteristics also exposed much concerning the deleterious consequences impacts experienced by persons, specifically as it interrelated to the usage of alcohol. The total sum of actions with friends, as well as the number of friends who are drinking alcohol amongst the adolescent’s network, regulatory for system size, ominously augmented the odds of reports of drinking. Thus, resulting in pugnacious behavior, problems with friends, lamentable sexual encounters, technical hitches in romantic relationships, hang over indications, and problems with close relatives (Baumann, 78). However, social media has a lot of side effects to the users. While looks social networking brings individuals together crosswise the Internet, in a greater nous it may craft social isolation. As individuals spend cumulative sums of time on social networks, they involve themselves in less face-to-face communications. Scientists assess social isolation in countless studies, and they say that it can result in a host of cerebral, psychosomatic, emotional and corporeal difficulties comprising downheartedness, nervousness, somatic complaints and many others. A research in Medicine animal study divulged that social seclusion weakened hormones of the brain. In addition, studies show that 63% of American population logs on to Facebook every day, and 40% log on several times every day (Baumann, 68) . Individuals use the site for innumerable reasons; conversely, it usually aids, on an individual level, the similar rudimentary purposes: diversion and monotony relief. “Likes” and comments are affirmative strengthening for posting info, making it challenging a person to sojourn. It, therefore, wastes much time for the Americans thus lowering their yield in the economy. Social media leads to low utilization of one’s brain due to malty tasking. People open many tabs thus concentrating less in all of them, especially when one of the tabs is a social media site. Research indicates that the brains do not have the capability to concentrate the attention copiously on two things at a go. Instead multitasking makes the mind shift rapidly from one chore to another.it encumbers processing of information and productivity. Therefore, social media significantly affects the economy of America (Baumann, 95). Overall, social media affects the privacy of American natives. Social networking sites embolden folks to be more public about their individual lives. Since people can post the bosom minutiae of our life without any problem, users are predisposed to circumvent the filters people work when talking about their reserved lives. Moreover, the things that individuals post are obtainable indeterminately. While a snapshot of associates doing shots at merrymaking may appear anodyne, the image may seem less gorgeous in the milieu of an employer doing a contextual check. Despite the fact that most sites consent their users to regulate who views the stuff theyve displayed, such limitations are frequently overlooked, can be problematic to control or never work as well as publicized. In conclusion, the impacts of social media have prodigious results in America. The impacts are too profound that America has to enact measures to curb the side effects. Seemingly most of the American populace is vulnerable to the shortcomings of the social media. However, the real effects of the social media are also far much outreaching. The economic effects of social media greatly boost the economy of America. The government should devise measures to control the underage from getting spoilt by the social media. They should deal with teenagers who use the social media to abuse drugs. Moreover, the government should encourage the businesses to market their products optimally through social media.
