Thus, they are motivated to perform better and give back to the society. Additionally, through gender equality, poverty is eradicated(Gruber 2005, p.23). Although women attain better status in some of the organization’s discrimination is evident in different forms. For instance, treatment of men in an organization better than women, this occurs in job promotion and salary increment. Employers are supposed to follow the law and treat all the employees in an organization equally. In view of this, the article discusses the gender inequality in the Workplace in Northern and Southern Ireland.

In Northern Ireland, people have different attitudes towards working women. Some believe that women who are working do not have enough time to take good care of their children. The gender roles are also specific as men are supposed to work to provide for their families and women should stay at home to take care of the children. Additionally, women are not supposed to attend school. As a result, they lack employment because they do not have the skills required in the job market. Gender difference in the education sector makes it hard for women to obtain employment in Northern Ireland.

Even when young girls attend schools, they do not get time to complete their education. That means that they do not have the skills and qualifications required in the job market(Razzu 2014, p.32). In Northern Ireland, women employment has increased overtime. However, the number of men in the job market is more than women. Most women in Northern Ireland are part-time workers as they need to take care of their families(Mayes & Thomson 2012, p.127). Most of the women are employed in the service sector and low positions while men occupy the managerial and senior positions.

As a result of this, the income gap between the men and women is wide. Women in Northern Ireland suffer a problem of low payment. Even when
