Immigration Reform Immigration reform is the term used for the changes brought about in the immigration policy by the government of a country. Previous flaws in the policy are removed to achieve a better policy that benefits the process of immigration. Since many, if not all, illegal immigrants bring bad name to the country and pose threats to the safety on a broader level, it is important to bring reforms to the immigration policies every now and then to counter illegal immigration. However, not all illegal immigrants belong to this category, since there are a lot of them who want to come and be a part of this society by working in the business sector and starting businesses that give out more jobs.

They have to leave their families in their homelands, and stay here to earn their bread and butter. Hence, immigration reform becomes necessary so that they may be able to keep their families with them after registering and paying taxes. Immigration reform is also necessary to save workers from getting exploited by unscrupulous employers, because when the undocumented workers will come into the workplaces, they will speak for their labor rights, for which the employers will have to pay wages without biasing.

Immigration reform is also necessary since most of the industrial and agricultural sector depends on workforce that comes from other countries. The unreliable immigration system makes this system hard for immigrant workers to join business sectors in the country. Hence, immigration reform is necessary for American economy.
