A direct conflict between tradition and liberal thinking arrives between thoughts and ideas. For instance, the Inuit people always emphasized collective thinking, whereas the challenger was the European thought that highlighted individual standing (“Challenging Liberalism”, n.d.).

Galileo challenged the Catholic Church for its long-held belief in geocentric theories, and as a liberal gesture, very boldly; he gave his heliocentric theory that it’s the sun, not the earth that is the center of the nine planets. The church challenged his theories and the famous astrologer was put under house arrest.

Liberalism is not only observed in religion and politics, entertainment is also subjected to a tussle between tradition and liberalism. For instance, the Rock ‘n’ Roll of the1950s changed the whole social dynamics. The way people used to dance with the male always leading the female, changed. This music was a medium of liberal expression. Females considered this music their calling and a more rebellious attitude manifested as parents never liked this new lifestyle.

The traditional perspectives in music have constantly been challenged by novel music styles and lyrics. Modern-day music artists and Rockstars would probably have been banned for challenging the traditional way of enjoying music and social life in general.

These are some of the traditional perspectives that have challenged liberalism. As time progresses, we will see more of these tussles, cloning, homosexuality and many other underground cults are some other perspectives under the same umbrella.
