Abstract

There exist many issues regarding the furtherance of human rights for women throughout history. In the postmodern feminism movement, the issues have existed from the inception of the first postmodern feminist movement, which existed from the beginning of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. The issues for feminism existed in the nineteenth century were majorly based on the role of women then and the characteristics of the feminist movement in the twentieth century were based at the beginning of the twentieth century. They were characterized by the role that women were deemed with during the times of war.

The role of women in the postmodern times, which were featured in the second wave movement and the third wave movement, is based on the portrayal of women through modern channels. The postmodern issues of feminism include the portrayal of women in media majorly based in pornographic films that portray the women as sex symbols, which is a bad view. Other contemporary issues are yet to be addressed, which include the LGBTQ movement that is existent in these times. In all these occurrences, the portrayal of women has been that of a demeaning stature. It contradicts the rights of women that need to be upheld for a common portrayal of equality in human rights for both the men and the undermined women.

The root causes of the issues in feminism are explained by the roles that women have been portrayed to play at different times in modern history. The changes and these views can be explained by the vies in the first wave feminist approach that existed in the early nineteenth century. The views in the twentieth century in the early times that existed majorly in the times of war where the women were portrayed in negative respect during the first world war and the second world war. The second wave movements for feminism existed in many countries during those times and in modern times to postmodern feminist wave movements that are the third wave movements which include the postmodern issues of these times that majorly channel portrayal of women communication and the LGBTQ movements sorrounding this era. The issues that need to be addressed are seen to be majorly the same in the fundamental nature. Also, the dynamics of the changes are characterized by the environments have surrounded the first, second, and third wave movements are addressed in detail to suit the satisfaction of human rights in this respect.

First wave feminist issues

The first wave feminist movement of this time was based on the early nineteenth century movements and the issues thereof and the issues that existed during the world war times during the first world war and the issues in the second war.

World war rape cases

There existed rape cases during the first world war, and this issue was recurrent in the second world war also. The militaries of various countries during these times in establishing their combat during the world war times resulted in raping women as a means for battle. I respect this aspect for women during these times there existed the issue as to the role women played in matrimony. The men were able to marry many women, but the women could not do so also. Instead, the hand in marriages was confined to the stipulations only for men, where the hand in marriage was insisted by the society to favour the men. Women had no right in African and Middle Eastern countries to refuse the proposal by men to marry them. This has remained an issue to be addressed to this day.

Sterilization issue

In the existent times then, the women were still confined to sterilization issues. This existed in the mutilation activities that governed these times. The issues here are not preliminary in seeking rights but are secondary in their nature for women and needed to be addressed urgently. The issues that are arising in these times in the fight for women's rights involve the channels used in conveying issues and the arising issues thereof. These issues include the channels that portray women in a bad light and also the LGBTQ issue.

Media portrayal

Women are being portrayed in a bad light in these postmodern times. The pornographic materials portray women as sex symbols as opposed to portraying women in aright light. There have been movements to ban the materials that portray women in such a manner. Also, the management of media licensing boards to portraying women is still a pertinent issue.

LGBTQ movement

Women's movements in the LGBTQ community include addressing issues for women that have gone through transgender surgery. The modern times have been characterized by an increase in transgender operations. Most facilities have included transgender stipulations in their stipulations. these stipulations still need to be modified]

The women's rights movement is that of a dynamic nature. There are ever-evolving needs as pertains to the rights of women. The rights of women are not the only issue. The issue that has remained over the times is that of equalizing the rights of both men and women. Men's rights have been considered in high regard than that of women, and the issue is still remaining for these times. Much attention needs to be involved in ensuring all women's rights are equalized to men's rights.
