The lives of the young people in china have been affected because of the widening the gap between and bringing people together through improving their interactions due to globalization. The young people do perceive globalization as a challenge to them due to the inequalities that are associated with globalization (Giddens, 2014). China has been used as the case in the process of addressing the effects of globalization on the young people. Economic development has been the area of specialization in exploring the effects of globalization on the young people. Globalization has led to an increase in the gap between the poor and the rich where 200 richest people in the world have an income of more than 2 million poorest people globally (Fukuda, 2003). The gap between the poor and the rich is constantly growing where the young are forming facing challenges in the process of aching economic stability. Globalization overview Globalization is the economic process that has been has introduced many changes in the economic, social, and educational lives of people globally. The Hyperglobalist, the Skeptical, and the Transformationalist are the schools that have been used in defining globalization. According to these schools of thought, the issues of inequality in the China economy have widened greatly due to the increased number of the unemployed youths where they have been moving to the urban areas to search for employment opportunities (Giddens, 2014). According to Marxists globalization involves both people and communities experiencing an increasingly common economic, social, and also cultural surrounding (Arnett, 2002). In a much-advanced world, the aspects of balancing economic, political, and cultural strength between various nations may end up resulting in the limitations of the freedoms of the individuals and as well as the human rights may be violated. Social Stratification-ers have the view that globalization has impacts on every individual throughout the life. The social employees, according to the kind of their jobs naturally, they are more likely to come across some people who have suffered the entire impacts of the globalization process (Giddens, 2014). Feminists view globalization as a challenge to the young people as they are facing challenges with globalization aspects because they are not in a position to control the speed of the changes taking place. For instance, globalization has been affecting the relevance in the labor market where the youth are forced to keep pace with the changes brought by globalization. Functionalists view globalization as the result of the constantly changing world has been a big challenge making most of the youths irrelevant in the labor market. Considering the fact that in China the population of the young people is high, the economic effects of globalization has been affecting the youth adversely. Impacts of globalization Globalization has led to the increase in the number of people in towns. There are more than 70 million people are moving to the towns in China has resulted in economic effects in China (Zweig, Changgui and Rosen, 2004). The rural development has been declining due to the increased number of the youths who have been moving to towns. Many of the young people are being attracted to go to the cities to search for jobs and adopt the urban lifestyle that seems to be attractive to them. The increased number of the young people in the cities has led to increased labor supply in the market the issue that has led to an increase in the unemployment. Many of the youths are failing to utilize the opportunities that are brought by globalization making them suffer due to the lack of enough employment opportunities (Carney, 2009). Globalization has contributed a lot to the economic growth due to increase business opportunities in the international and domestic markets. The aspect of the globalization has greatly acted as a motivating factor to a large number of the economic theorists. The economic theorists have made use of the globalization aspect in their improvement of the various constructions concerning the economic performance where various changes are brought into the economy. According to the theoretical research, it has been clearly indicated that, the both consumers and the people who make use of the technological advancement are not always passive. The Country of China has totally followed these economic effects of the global advancement as a way of transforming itself economically. The majority of the youth people have involved themselves highly in the related economic issues, in other countries which have already economically developed (Wei and Li, 2002). In the year of 1981, Stuart Hall who was a cultural theorist came up with a certain theory which stated that the relationship which was existing between the individuals and the industrial advancement was not purely passive, but the economy has been an area for striving ideologically. Globalization has led to increase use of technology in production helping many organizations to achieve efficiency in their operations. It affects the modern communities through both technologically and politically joined in this digital world. One of the countries with an advancing economy is China, whereby the individuals living in that country have greatly made use of the technological advancement, and they have also tried to convince the other countries on the importance of adopting the modern technology, just because of the aspect of globalization. A very good example is where the actress from Canada who was a celebrity, actually attracted very many followers on a Chinese Twitter-like service which were named as the Weibo (Zheng, 2004). The people who are greatly making use of the modern technology as well as the social media in particularly, they have seemed as if they are taking control of the new technological modes and their content use too, putting into considerations as to whether the new technology has been authorized or not. Regardless of the impacts brought about the digital technology on political changes, the country of China has remained focusing its interest on realizing more new advancements in their daily activities. Implications for youth work Through the globalization process, the capitalist actions have been facilitated, therefore creating a lot of stress especially to the young people. In the process ensuring selection of the important aspects of the globalization by the young people, their instability status may contribute towards the tensions and lack of control when they are carrying out their daily chores (Zweig, Changgui, and Rosen, 2004). The only thing that is found most thrilling about the aspect of globalization was that the globalization process usually makes use of the both time and space. However, the challenging problem about the globalization is that this process may end up resulting in local consequences and which the globalization was not intending to produce. Therefore, the young people have been socially deprived and degraded through the globalization of the world, therefore causing discomforts on them (Arnett, 2002). In the process of analyzing the globalization process, the young people are always excluded since the aspect of globalization is featured by segregation, thus increasing the existing gap between global elites and the localized majority. The accessibility of the modern technology usually depends on the financial potential of an individual. Therefore, differences regarding the wealth and resources hinder majority of the youths from accessing the digital technology. However, in the process of determining the kind of relationship which exists between the young people and the globalization, there are two major points which should come into the mind (Kofman and Youngs, 2008). One of these points usually assumes that the impacts of globalization cannot be stopped, while the other point is an assumption that the youths react to the globalization activities rather than negotiating with them. Globalization has been tackled as if is an aspect which is more special. However, the significance of the globalization process has been clearly seen in the various fields such as solving the cases of injustices in the worldwide and also recognizing various cultures of the people. Additionally, the inter-technology revolution has greatly facilitated the process of interconnecting all the countries in the world; however, it is not in all the countries where the individuals are granted the freedom of speech; therefore some of the people remain silent (Dominelli, 2010). For instance, in China, the freedom of speech is always controlled, through monitoring the various ways which are used in the communication process. In the countries which have developed like China, inter- technology computer revolution, seems to be a bizarre issue because of the reason that both its opponents and also the proponents seem that they have come to an agreement with it. The opinion of both the activists and corporations is that the revolution of the computer has facilitated to rapid globalization in China. Technology has also led to the elimination of some labor which is provided by workers in both public and private sectors. The social media is used by the majority of the politicians to create their political understanding to the people (Kofman and Youngs, 2008). Additionally, the modern technology has caused major effects to the people in the communities in their ways of handling issues that face them. Conclusion This case study has demonstrated the impacts that globalization has on the lives of the young people. The lives of the young people in China have been complicated by globalization because of the multidimensional aspects brought by globalization. The young people are being transformed by the issue of globalization differently where many are increasingly becoming open-ended creating some complications to the economic lives of the young people. The experience of the young people due to the globalization aspects is negative despite the many opportunities that are forced by the increased globalization. The global process has failed to ensure proper assimilation of the young people regarding the economic activities.
