Name: Instructor: Course: Date: Should governments continue to forbid same sex marriage? Introduction This essay highlights the side effects of pornography and gives all the factors against same sex marriages. From research, it is clear that pornography has very many disadvantages many of which affect men adversely in their relationships (Andryszewski 67). Same sex marriages on the other side are seen as a waste of time and resources as they are not seen to be fruitful in any way (Eskridge and Darren 103). There are many arguments in opposition to same sex marriages and are all highlighted below. Pornography is also very much discouraged for views as it has many side effects. It is an advice to the government therefore to forbid same sex marriages and pornography. Arguments against same sex marriage One of the main problems of same sex marriage is that it increases pornography. This is because the couple will lack sexual satisfaction hence turning to pornography and masturbation for satisfaction. Pornography has many side effects to the watchers (Marneffe 69). In fact, it is addictive and causes bad adverse effects. One of the main problems related to pornography is erectile dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction is termed as the consistent inability to sustain and maintain an erection. This is very common to many pornography viewers. Many men who watch pornography find themselves in such conditions but they are not able to realize the causative agent (Rimmerman and Clyde 89). Erectile dysfunction is associated with decreased penile sensitivity, which is depicted when one’s penis is unable to get excitement sexually when in contact with a real partner. There is also the problem of lack of spontaneous erections. This is another serious problem. It manifests itself such that one is not able to get sexually aroused by a partner without having additional factors to support him. This causes men to look for something to arouse them (in this case it is pornography) before meeting their real life partners for sex. This is a serious problem and has caused many relationships to break because of lack of sexual satisfaction. Another problem yet accompanied with erectile dysfunction is delayed ejaculation. It has been noted that men who are addicted to watching pornography have difficulties in reaching their orgasm with real sexual partners. This is so because they are used to watching pornography, which in most cases escalates to masturbation (Donovan, Christopher and Daniel 79). The masturbation makes men not to be in a position to reach their orgasm timely. Yet another side effect associated with erectile dysfunction is not being aroused by static porn. One may not be able to be aroused by past moments of sexual arousal or pictures depicting romantic scenes. The other side effect accompanied with erectile dysfunction is the failure of drugs designed to curb erectile dysfunction failing to assist in doing their work. This is an indication of prolonged viewing of porn. It also shows that one is in an addiction state. All these problems can be seen I a case study cited of Zoe 38 and her husband Leo 44 who have had many problems due to Leo’s use of pornography and masturbation. It is stated that Leo could not maintain an erection for a good time (Rimmerman and Clyde 31). This made him not to enjoy sex to the fullest when with his wife Zoe. He then opted for daily masturbation before going to sleep which had their marriage collapsing. Introduction of same sex marriages will only but increase the numbers of those using pornography to fulfil their sexual desires by using masturbation hence not helping the society in any way. The next reason is that same sex marriage is not in any case approved by religion, culture and the general orientation of law. There are many issues about same sex marriage that does not make it fit for human beings to continue enjoying. The first one of them is that same sex marriages were not designed by God. God designed marriages to have both sexes so that the couple could assist each other in running the daily activities. According to the bible, a marriage is supposed to have two individuals: a man and a woman such that a man shall leave his home and join a woman so that together they form one body in the Lord. It is also clear that same sex marriages will not help in bringing their off springs in the world (Rimmerman and Clyde 53). This was God’s for a marriage. Married couples were to have many children so that they could enable to fill the world. Legalizing gay or same sex marriages will also encourage gay people to be on the rise, a scenario that can bring the world to terrible danger if not everybody was giving birth to young ones. This can cause many things to collapse due to lack of young people’s labour and skills to replace older people. Toad to this, gay families will only raise children in a gay nature hence raising a child into being gay. This is very wrong as everyone is supposed to be given the free will to choose from good and bad in the society. Children are supposed to be raised up as straight so that it is upon them to decide whether to turn into being gay or straight. Legalization of gay marriages will also weaken straight marriages. People may argue that gay marriages are the modern trends hence sway people into being gay. This effect may even cause straight marriages to break in favour of gay marriages (Donovan, Christopher and Daniel 41). Existence of many gay marriages may also change the social orientation of the society. All societies are susceptible to change provided the change is insisted upon individuals over time. This act may cause people to believe in gay orientation and can easily wipe away straight marriages. This can be very devastating. It can cause a stop to the continuation of generation by giving birth. Children raised in such a scenario will also not have good role models from both sexes (Knox and Caroline 91). A gay family raising a girl child brings total mess in such a child. Morals to be learned from the mother will never be passed to her in time. This causes children to grow up without proper guidance hence poor future leaders. This only worsens the moral state of a country. It is therefore a plea to the government to look into it that certain behaviour is not allowed to continue in the society. Same sex marriage also increases the number of prostitution. This is so because the couple will decide to turn to prostitutes because they will lack sexual satisfaction (Rimmerman and Clyde 42). Prostitution by itself has very many adverse effects to those practicing it and the clients visiting the place for services. One of the main effects to prostitutes is exposure to diseases. Sex workers all over the planet are exposed to many risky diseases including: HIV/AIDS, STDs and many other deadly diseases. Contraction of such diseases will highly increase the infection, as many other customers will come for services from the same person without knowledge that she may be unsafe. Such individuals may then be the carries of the virus and distribute such virus to many other people in different places (Donovan, Christopher and Daniel 23). This causes a national disaster. Members of same sex families may also face problems in terms of isolation from friends and members of the society (Spector 62). This is because nobody wants to associate with individuals with such behaviour, as they are always known to be bad. This may force such individuals to turn into thugs, as they will see others as enemies due to the distance (Flowers 121). Later on such individuals may turn into real sex workers, as their marriage may not stand for so long. In the case of lesbians, they will turn into prostitutes. This is very easy as online dating has simplified things. After chatting with several men over the internet, a prostitute can now go round having sex with each individual he had talked to. This may cause them to spread any virus they may have contacted hence increasing the numbers of carries. This action is evident in Kick’s sex blog where he states that he has found many women on dating sites of which 77 percent had sex with him on the first day. This rate shows how easy it will be for one to infect many people within a very short period. It is saddening. All this however, will have been created by same sex marriages. It is therefore a deep plea to the government to look into the issue and look for possible ways of stopping the legalization of such bills into laws. Conclusion In conclusion, it can be seen clearly that the government needs to start battling against same sex marriages, as it will only increase issues in society like pornography and prostitution. These issues are quickly becoming points of concern as they are adversely affecting many young citizens of this country as per now and if supported by same sex marriages, then our country will be in total mess. It is evident that the number of individuals pulled into such vices is growing at an alarming rate and if the government does not do something to stop them, then we might lack future strong leaders who are full of morals and are good role models. It is also clear that same sex marriages need to be illegalized first before the other points can be thought of. This is so because legalizing of this issue will then steer up the other issues such that it will be very difficult to stop them. It is therefore an appeal to the government to come in handy to assist us is stopping such vices in the society. Works cited Andryszewski, Tricia. Same-sex marriage :moral wrong or civil right?
