Summary Summary Data and method Sample During collection of data, the study distributed eighty-two questionnaires to onthe CSULB campus over the course of two weeks. Eighty questionnaires were completed and applicable to the sample. The samples consist of 44 female (55%) and 36 male (45%) subjects. The sample subjects had an age range of 19 to 25 years. There are 12 African-American students (15%), 13 Asian-Pacific Islanders student (13%), 30 White students (30%), 24 Latino, Hispanic students (24%), and others constituted 1.3 percent as reported in the questionnaires. Measures Acceptance of Cosmetic Surgery Scale is a 15-item scale measuring various aspects of an individual’s attitudes about cosmetic surgery and rated on a 5- point scale (1 = strongly disagree,5= strongly agree). The question defined in the questions related to ‘If I could have a surgical procedure done for free I would consider trying cosmetic surgery’. Individuals answered the 15 questionnaires on scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree. The total points of each item would be additive and analyzed in data. Previous work has shown that the ACSS has high internal consistency, good test-retest reliability, and good convergent and discriminate validity ( Swami, Premuzic, SBridges, Furnham, 2008). Media exposure defines a measure developed to assess exposure of appearance-related media. The study asked participants to record the frequency of viewing or reading plastic surgery advertisement form magazine, newspaper, television program and internet. The survey seeks answers to questions including how often you have seen television programmers about plastic surgery. Participant rated the frequency of getting media information about plastic surgery on a 5-point scale (1= never, 5= very often).  For the magazine and newspaper, television program, and internet exposure, the research summed scores to produce a total score. The higher scores indicated greater exposure (Slevec ,Tiggemann, 2010). Body Satisfaction defines a criterion aimed at assessing the extent to which the students are comfortable with the current state of their bodies. For this reason, the Body Satisfaction Scale for adults and adolescents was put to use ( Adkins,  Stivers, 2006). In the scale there are 15 items tapping the individual evaluation by the participants of their weight. The scale also evaluates the extent to which they relate desirable outcomes to their weight that attributes positive outcomes from their weight like relating looks and the possibility of getting dates. In addition, the scale evaluates how they view their appearance for example whether or not they like their appearance in mirrors. After the study subjected appropriate items to reverse scoring, the responses from the participants across items remained averaged. The research accomplished it such that the higher numbers provide an indication of positive body satisfaction. Brown, Furnham, Glanville, and Swami (2007) research on various experiences of plastic surgery found that the sensational incident of cosmetic surgery through family and friends improved the possibility of undertaking plastic surgery for men and women. Based on the prior study, the experience of plastic surgery (via family and friends) remained controlled in the present study. Participants were asked for answer questions such as have you had any plastic surgery? Or has anyone you know had done any plastic surgery in the survey. Participants would beanswering this kind of question as ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. According to the findings of Grant (2013), control variable middle-class patients constitute the majority of individuals undergoing plastic surgery. The patients use a significant amount of their disposable income to achieve this. Based on the Grant’s study, the inherent research will take participant’s income as a variable controlled in this present study. The study asked respondents to provide an approximate annual income, because not every respondent will remember their exact amount of annual income. Method Respondent’s acceptance of plastic surgery M=45, SD=5.35. Media exposure M=8.19, SD=1.44. Body Satisfaction M=46.99, SD=4.49. Income M=9935.96, SD=3375. However, there is a very week positive correlation found between respondent’s personal experience of plastic surgery and acceptance of plastic surgery (Pearson= .28, sig=.01). A who respondents had done plastic surgery before would have his or her acceptance of the surgery increased. In addition, there is negative correlation between the body satisfaction and acceptance of plastic surgery (Pearson= -.34, sig=.003). As individual’s body satisfaction increased, the acceptance of plastic surgery decreased.
