This will enable the city to gain an upper hand over the U.S, which has simply authorized gay people to serve transparently in the military. As opposed to the Catholic devoted nations, Derek (1) continues to argue that gays have never actually grimaced upon the traditions of the Chinese customs, which makes it easier to safeguard the homosexual society. From an empirical perception, the ratio of men engaging in homosexual relationships and were infected with HIV/AIDS is more than 5% and it is quickly on the increase. It is believed that confirmation or approval of gay marriage in China will give more room for quite a large number of homosexuals and lesbians to create a lasting relationship.

According to the latest release by the Chinese state, the government has formulated new strategies for fighting HIV/AIDS. The government targets to supply condoms in more than 95% of hotels and public venues as well as minimize the rate of new infections by about 25% by the year 2015. Therefore, there should be no argument in regard to gay relations resulting in more infections since other strategies can be used to minimize the infections and contractions of HIV/AIDS. Besides, gay marriage has been used as a strategy of preventing gay men from being compelled to marry women between pressures hence avoiding a number of tragedies. About 16 million Chinese women are married to gay men according to experts (Eskridge and Darren 234). In addition, there are so many gays and lesbians (52 million and 39 million respectively) in china where if gay marriage is allowed it will be a big boost to reduce the pressure on the population being experienced in the country. It is disappointing to see lesbians being forced to marry gays just to reduce the population pressure and as a result leading to various tragedies within the society-the tragedies that can be prevented by allowing gay marriage to prevail. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Gay Marriage

...? GOVT 2305 Day Month Year Opposing Viewpoints: Gay Marriage One man. One woman. That has been the prevailing thought foryears when one talks about traditional marriage in the United States. In recent decades, however, this thinking has been challenged by not only the Gay and Lesbian community, but by other social activists across the country. Equally as vocal, however, are the members of society who are committed to keeping the ‘traditional definition’ of marriage in tact and making sure that only one woman and one man are permitted to marry for decades to come. On the one side, many contend, “Gay marriage is really a matter of respect and human rights” (Mollmann 105). Others believe that this is a fight for religious freedom, making...

...?Gay Marriage: Compare and Contrast In the article “High Court Will Rule on Gay Marriage,” Jess Bravin delves into the Supreme Court’s decision to hear cases that challenge federal and California law that place limits on the rights of same-sex couples. The article goes into detail about the history of same-sex marriage bans, from the marriages themselves to the rights that these couples have been denied, including benefits to same-sex spouses. Many states have overturned these rulings, claiming that it is unconstitutional to essentially punish a lawfully married couple for being gay (Bravin par. 5). Using the example of Edith Windsor and Thea Spyer, a gay couple who had been together for over forty years, yet when Thea died, Edith was left...

Whereas people get married because of love and procreation, the main reason why these men get married to the opposite sex is to not only impress their parents and friends but also camouflage themselves for fear of stigmatization if they are discovered to be homosexual (Der Spiegel). Such marriages are full of lies and infidelity because whereas they are married, such people will still always have an external affair with other partners of the same sex (Der Spiegel). In the end, such marriages never last because they eventually result to break ups...

Gay Marriage in China

... Gay Marriages in China Like most Asian countries, the issue of gay marriages in China has been controversial. While gay marriages in China remain largely illegal, this has not stopped such marriages from happening. For a long time, human rights crusaders have constantly pointed out that failing to legalize gay marriage is equivalent to denying the quest for human rights for all. However, the gay marriage debate in China has received very little attention among academicians and as such there is very little material that discusses gay marriages in the Chinese context (Brook 12). This paper examines the positions of those who deny gay rights as well as those who claim that these rights should be recognized with a view to establishing whether...

However, as a further understanding of sociology, gender, and biology has exhibited, it is obvious that this traditional dynamic is not always the case. Boys are not always attracted to girls, while women are not always attracted to men. Although this has been the normal scenario, cases of people getting...
