In that perspective, the United States acts as a good example to the world. The question how democratic is democracy in U.S may seem challenging to a lay man but it is clear from the U.S constitution that the states practice democracy in almost all their dealings. However to some extent America system of governance has failed to adopt some of the some of the innovations and modifications in the democratic systems and ideal. The United States constitution allows the common citizens to participate in various democratic processes such as election and taking part in referendum in case there is any. However to some extent the American democracy gets dilute day by day with more of her power Washington. The states are becoming more republic consolidated government. The "politically correct" and "historical revisionists" have soiled United States with restrained but disparaging autocracies that have extremely dented our free democratic people. Politicians use the term democracy when they need something from the publics, and they use the term republic when they do not need something from the citizens. The meaning of Limited Government It is political system and where the legal force is regulated through given and enumerated powers. For instance, the United States Constitution, and predominantly the Bill of Rights, was premeditated to limit governments part to what United States’ founding forefathers saw as governments utmost vital functions. The main functions were to reserve individual liberty and defend private property. Moreover, a politician with bad image may end up losing his electoral seat even through passing of a vote of no confidence. Current state of democracy in U.S Just to begin, America has struggled against division, servitude, and discrimination, civic and social discontent and arose more united and devoted to the objective of realizing equal chance for all the Americans. The American forefathers struggled dearly to the lives of the common citizens by adopting democracy. However, the current government has a times failed to implement the basics of these democratic principles. Most of the leaders we elect are not ready to make difficult choices even at times of crisis when our state best need their decisions. They end up putting out the flames of the candle of democracy in the states. It is sad that the congress a times fail to produce the budget when in real sense the nation may be posed with record deficits. Sometimes the parties are locked in their dogma trench warfare and end up refusing to involve them in any significant endeavor to solve difficulties facing the nation. Most of the times the leaders only refer to democracy when they need vote or something significant from the citizens, however, when not, they refer to the republic and don’t uphold democratic principles. They untold part lies with the common citizen. The integrity of the house of the congress may deteriorate even more if we sit on the shoulders of democracy. Democracy is very difficult to achieve and needs a lot of reviving and reviewing for it to continue benefitting the common citizens. The health of our democracy is at stake and needs some serious actions to be taken. However, restoring trust and accountability is a duty of everybody in the nation.
