The society also respected the animals such as cats and dogs and even these were treated judicially with dignity. With the society’s structure the people very respectful of the order and lived in strict observation of the cultures and traditions of the society. They loved art and poetry and as such strive to attain artistic recognition. There was harmony in the society despite the need by individuals to perfect and excel in poetry which was regarded with a lot of respect. They also prayed to God every time to grant them success in their endeavors in life.

Compared to the modern societies the Heian Court society was so orderly, observed respect and justice for all. But the author concentrates on the positive aspects of the society hence does not give us the negative aspects or tragedies that befell the society. A lot of the concentration is also given to the royal families without walking us through the entire society outside the palace. We, therefore, are not told of ordinary Heian society.
