No, the political opinions of prisoners are as important as for ordinary citizens. The government does not grant the right to vote as it does other rights. This means the government values the political perspectives of all citizens irrespective of their state of citizenship.3. Is allowing prisoners to vote marginalizing correctional facilities and gradually punishing society?Restricting prisoners from voting in fact marginalizes correctional facilities. This is because voting is a democratic procedure that affects everybody keen on a free and fair election.

If a political candidate won an election because of the exclusion of prisoners’ views, his or her supporters contribute to the role of correctional facilities towards barring the right to vote.4. Do prisoners not enjoy procedural rights that contribute to free and fair elections?Prisoners should enjoy the same procedural rights that ordinary citizens do. This is because such rights add to free and fair elections. The right to vote precisely ascertains the will of society.5. Would prisoners not contribute the same value of order and the rule of law as regular citizens during elections?

Since prisoners are still citizens, their right to vote would add to the value of order and the rule of law. The right to vote is the only thing prisoners would have to offer them an ethical obligation to respect and adhere to the law.
