Racial Conflicts Racial conflicts have played an important role in the society’s and the global issues since the ancient times. People have long been judged by their skin colour, religion and biological features in every society. Due to the long history that goes back to the ancient societies, sociologists have started to conclude that most of the worldly conflicts that occur all around the world are because of these racial conflicts that have been pre-existed in the societies. One of the most important conflicts that have been under the limelight for hundreds of years is the conflict between the whites and the blacks. These racial conflicts have brought the societies to a different level, and seem to be rising day by day. With the existence of the racial conflicts, the history has shown how immensely they have affected the world economy and the standard of living. Although it is a global issue, it has been seen that each society has been adversely hit by the problem resulting in the impact on their quality of life. The world is one place which has to be protected and our species given the right to live freely. Unfortunately due to the value of life, conflicts arise constantly crossing the ideas of religion, social class and appearances. Although it can be assessed that most of us can live with at least one, but for most of us, it is a critical point (Levine 128). As an effect, the political leaders feel constantly pressurized as to the influence of these racial groups. And thus, while making necessary decisions, they might as well feel partial or biased. Their choices tend to reflect the whole world. This is because control of one country affects the surrounding countries as well and impacts the racial groups throughout the globe, if of the same kind. The other countries thus act as a chain of reactions that may be brought in one country. In many ways it has been assessed that the racial conflicts are not the result of few, but of many. And it does not only affect one of the aspects, but affects the whole globe collectively. These racial conflicts have been affecting the various factors of the globe. On one hand, it affects the psychological growth of the racial group as they have to suffer criticisms, unfairness and inequality in the society at the hands of the majorities. They also have to suffer economically as the political and government decisions are influenced by these conflicts and events like unequal distribution of wealth may take place, unemployment may exist more in the racial groups as jobs may be preferably given to the majorities. For example, in America, the blacks have long suffered at the hands of the whites and still to this day, jobs are preferably given to the whites, the Congress, though representing the blacks, gives priority to the whites. Black men are not allowed to dine with white men, or go to same schools as whites; if at all. They have been treated like salves ever since the Civil War (Clark 237). With the presence of the racial conflicts, most commonly in the American societies, it has become very difficult for these racial groups to form their own societies. Not realising that these societies also represent the whole country, they are treated as societies of minorities, slaves and racist groups. Under these perceptions and traditions, it had become almost impossible for these racist groups to survive, affecting the lives of many children and women who were associated with these groups. They formed small communities and societies like Harlem in New York. These societies eventually had low standards of living and were economically, socially and politically undermined by the bigger societies (Clark 237). As seen in many of the examples associated with mostly the racial conflicts between the blacks and whites, these societies have suffered a lot both individually and as a whole. Not only in the societies of the blacks, but also in the Chinese racist groups in America, in the Muslims racist groups and in many other groups around the world, sociologists have observed how severely these societies suffer and more importantly how individuals suffer. And because these societies are affected morally, emotionally and economically, they tend to be weaker in all terms. Hence, it affects the society’s individuals as well. Since the society consists of families, children, adults and old age people of an entire race, the affects of these sufferings are severe on each of them. Children are affected morally and emotionally by facing torture and injustice at the hands of the other whites, whereas they suffer their education as well since they are not sent to good schools. Adults suffer with their jobs and employment as they strive for their living and their family’s well being. All in all the societies consists of people who are mentally and physically surrounded with racial conflicts that tend to make them weaker, if not monetarily then morally and so on (Clark 238). Racism has also to some extend contributed in effecting the ecology of our planet. The racist groups and communities are the ones that do not get government and authority support for their health and environment. Some communities are vigorously imposed of environmental regulations while some are still not. Environmental justice has not been provided to many of the poor communities mostly comprising of the racist groups, and their communities are not incorporated to the environmental protection. Some of the communities are poisoned while the government and the politics look the other way. The environmental equity refers to the equal care given to the environmental and health constraints at all locations and all the people subjected to the danger. This may include the geographical equity, which entitles to provide the equal facilities to all the areas no matter whether they are racist societies or not. Poor and undeveloped communities are usually left unincorporated. The social equity is also included in this and it suggests that the role of sociological factors such as ethnic and racist groups should not tend to affect the environmental decision making. For example, poor people are often endangered to work on dangerous jobs and areas and live in the most polluted communities being exposed to all kinds of toxic pollutants. In regard to the racial conflicts that are seen throughout the globe and the history of these conflicts that goes to the ancient times, it has been assessed that these conflicts may have a severe affect on the future of the world as well. Since they are tending to morally, politically, emotionally and ecologically bind the societies, they can cause much of the damage to the entire era. The future of these racial conflicts can be seen at the hands of humanity which has been the reason for the evolution of humanity and which will be the biggest trait of destruction (Levine 150). Although world peace is one of the major focal points in everyone’s mind but it has become impossible to achieve it with the conflicting views on cultures, religions, biological features or skin colour. Thus the future of the racial conflicts suggest that it will be the reason for the massive world distribution where everyone would be distinguished by colour, and success will lie on the basis of biological features rather than mental abilities and knowledge. And eventually, this will result in a weaker society either dominant on others, or either dependent on others. Thus, if we do not work out these conflicts, the world will be seen in the next 100 years to be divided into several other parts eventually resulting in inequality in all aspects.
