Your full full September 19, Immigration Admissions and Control Policies Before going to prepare a brief report for the President outlining what types of immigration admissions and control policies, he should adopt in order to achieve some key objectives, let us get a better understanding of what immigrations admissions and control policies actually are. Both immigration admission and admission control are the immigration policies that the government of a country develops in order to control immigrations.

Admission policy is concerned with the entry of the skilled immigrants whereas control policy is concerned with restricting illegal immigrants from entering a country. The key objectives of the U.S. immigration policy include provision of immigrant labor to the U.S. economy, reduction in the number of illegal immigrations to the U.S., and control of negative public opinion towards immigration. To fulfill the first objective of the U.S. immigration policy, the administration should implement a well-structured skills-based points system and should introduce more specific visa categories for the immigrants.

The immigration policy for professional teachers, doctors, and engineers should be relaxed in order to attract a large number of professionals towards the country. We should also improve our skills-based points system. Immigrations based on skills, abilities, and qualification will definitely help us provide skilled immigrant labor to our economy. Being an immigration advisor, I will say that letting a small number of skilled immigrants enter our country will be beneficial for us as compared to a policy, which allows a large number of unskilled immigrants enter the United States.

To fulfill the second objective of the U.S. immigration policy, the administration should increase the level of restrictiveness in the external immigration control policy. The administration should also revise the internal immigration control policy in order to apprehend the undocumented immigrants more efficiently. Undocumented and unauthorized immigrants should not be given any opportunity to enter the United States. People who are not well educated or those who do not possess good character should not be allowed to enter the United States.

The reason is that most of the people belonging to these categories do not find employment even in financially stable countries and get involved in illegal activities, such as, drug trafficking. The U.S. government should take special measures to restrict the entry of such individuals. To fulfill the third objective of the U.S. immigration policy, the administration should create awareness among the public that not all immigrants are bad. The administration should make public aware of the fact that it is only a small number of illegal immigrants who are actually involved in criminal activities.

Most of the immigrants are very peaceful and abide by the rules and regulations of the country. Immigrants are fully aware of the fact that getting employment is not an easy task in the United States. This fact makes them work hard to keep their jobs and continue earning money. Moreover, they abide by the laws of the companies and maintain brotherly relationships with coworkers. People need to understand that immigrants are the main force behind improvement of the economies of the developed nations.

Immigrants do such jobs, which local people hesitate to do. Apart from doing such jobs, immigrants also do highly technical jobs based on their skills, abilities, and qualifications. Therefore, if the government is able to communicate the benefits of immigrants to the public, the negative opinion of the public can surely be controlled. Works Cited Not required.
