The Fast Track Program of Florida Institute It is to one’s advantage to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in five years through the University’s FastTrack Program. There are several reasons why this option is advantageous for a student. First all, this “program combines the proven benefits of a traditional university cooperative education with a one-of-a-kind, student-centered approach[Flo10]. According to FIT, after graduating from its program, one will be “viewed as a hot prospect in the eyes of future employers”[Flo101].

The Fast Track Program of FIT gives an opportunity for undergraduate students to take graduate course work; thus, they are able to finish a master’s degree in less time than in traditional programs[Flond]. Furthermore, the students will not have to shoulder the cost of graduate admission requirements and eliminate the anxiety of applying in a graduate program. The time commitment will also be greatly reduced. Another major advantage of the FastTrack program is that most students who graduate from this program usually earn higher starting salaries.

They also gain access to the latest trends in technology and are better exposed to real-world scenarios. They become exposed to industry leaders and are able to expand their professional network [Flo101]. Students from the program acquire major related work experience, professional skill-honing, co-op earnings and insight into one’s professional strengths [Flo09].
