Executive MBS Program Objectives The world of business encompasses a wide variety of opportunities that enable me to express my talents and pursue my personal goals. Having been personally involved with some modestly successful ventures, I have come to appreciate that my continued growth in the field of business will require ongoing education and expansion of my individual horizons. There are many segments of business that I find interesting and there are endless positions and worthwhile investments. Though on a limited scale I find I can realize some positive returns in the short term, I have reached a point where I require the additional educational background that an Executive MBA Program could offer me. Because my recent experience has been well rounded and in a variety of sectors, I have been able to diversify my risk by taking a limited investment strategy. I have managed my investments in products as diverse as ice cream and radio broadcasting. This has offered me an opportunity to come to the realization that there are many common threads to management that are irrespective of the industry. I have come to learn that the appreciation of solid employees, professional risk management, and the application of superior organizational skills are the tools I need to reach the next level of success. Working with limited capital has necessitated that I take a lower risk approach to business which often offers less return on investment. My plan has been to carefully assess the downside potential and creatively formulate a plan which will identify areas open to realistic growth potential. This has been successful in producing modest gains and I plan to continue this business model until such time that I accumulate the capital required to engage in higher risk ventures. This will require me to have a better understanding of the calculation of the risks associated with my desired returns. A commitment to hard work can often be the difference in the return on a low risk investment. However, a high-risk venture will also require a deeper understanding of the science behind the business. With the plans I have for future expansion and more complex investment strategies, there will come a greater reliance on other people for direction and judgment. The organizational skills learned through the Executive MBA Program will be vital in understanding how people function within an organization. The management of people is the management of human nature. Eliciting the most reasoned and sound decisions from people without the limits of emotionalism is primary to running a successful business. The tools required to gain exposure in these areas are acquired in the classroom through academic study, and the continued deliberate structuring of a sound business plan. This assures that people are able to work together to elevate the level of the group beyond any individuals performance. My desire as a manager is to obtain the training necessary to allow me to gain the experience to accomplish the running of a larger, corporate organization. The diversity of business relationships also demands a greater knowledge of international business techniques. My recent business relationships in Kuwait have increased my drive to participate in international business. Training in business law, customs, and traditions would allow me to work with the most talented people in any given field, without the barriers and limitations of borders. This approach to business is imperative in todays world and will be crucial to the future. There is a need to supply a workforce with materials and livelihood in the ever-changing global economy. The requirement to have differing nationalities working on the same project with different languages and varying value systems will be successful only if the manager has the insight required to get the different forces to work together toward a successful result. These are skills which can be learned, and the implementation of them will result in the gaining of valuable experience. Im confident that I have the background and drive necessary to succeed in the Executive MBA program. My working experience has opened my eyes to the possibilities available in the field of business management and has committed me to focusing on a successful career in this field. My experience with my own business ventures to this point has been a valuable resource. The business undertakings that have been less than successful have also been highly instructional. They have taught me patience, honest risk assessment, and the necessity to plan for unforeseen events. I would bring to the program the temperament it takes to honestly evaluate business management without an unrealistic sense of security in the outcome. In addition to the technical and financial aspects of business management, there are other values I would bring to the program which are equally important though less measurable. The sense that business is the central focus of civilization and livelihood also places a unique responsibility on management. Business must remain honest and managers must remain cognizant to the fact that business is for the benefit of all involved. Contract fulfillment and customer relationships require credibility and ethical execution. It is vital that managers not risk peoples well being on shortsighted and ill-conceived adventures. My reasons for wanting to participate in the Executive MBA Program stem from my belief in business and my belief that I have the necessary background and a strong desire to succeed. My experience and skill with the international influence of tomorrows global economy will be a valuable asset in furthering my education. I can plan for success while anticipating unforeseen problems. I believe these qualities will translate well into many fields of business, within many sectors, and in a multitude of diverse industries. . Read More
