1. Executive summary Science plays a vital role in today’s human civilization. Science compounded with technology has profoundly impacted on human life. Through science, the human race is able to tackle the problems it could not have managed over time. Since the 20th century, scientific revolution has taken a different trend all together with new innovations and ideas continuously streaming into the cycle. There lie a number of promises in the field each day on new innovations which will aid problem solving. As it stands in the current 21st century we have to adopt the fullest impacts brought about by science to ensure well being of the human race. Finland has been ranked fifth in the global science forum; this means that the country is taking steps to ensure that science becomes part of a solution to the daily problems. The country has experienced mushrooming organizations which offer competitive ground for technological advancement in various fields; mathematics, astronomy, architecture, chemistry, metallurgy, medicine and other innovative sectors in the science world. It is also paramount for a given company to stay open-minded so as to assimilate ideas from other likeminded individuals. CRANN in Finland is a good example of such scenario which enjoys support from other huge international companies in the world. It has been Finland’s tradition to ensure universal harmony and a holistic approach towards the entire human kind. Since time immemorial since has been on the oven each day a new idea crops up and gets formulated almost instantaneously. Science also plays an integral aspect in the economy; with proper collaboration with the leaders in the country science will obviously increase productivity in the particular country. 2. Introduction CRANN (The Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanodevices) is a constituent of trinity college Dublin. So far it is the biggest research institute in the college and essentially works in conjunction with University College Cork (UCC). This institute works at the frontiers of nano and materials which concentrates on developing knowledge of nanoscale materials. The institute directs its concentration to typically new devices which is culminated by sensor technologies in the market; specifically on biotechnology and medical technology areas. However there is a changing direction of concentration to energy research which is the greatest driving force. Governance Governance is one key aspect which has led to the success of CRANN in the past 10 years. It is an approach which has resulted in the institute to get financial support from other giant companies in the world. The government on most occasions has showed and depicted a helping hand on matters which are beneficial to the society. Without the proper governance in the institute then CRANN could not own such a huge base of infrastructure. To bring such a huge and influential team of professional is not easy. It all streams down to governance where, management has to be persuasive enough to collect such expert knowledge across the globe. It is up to management to ensure that each single employee in the institute is up to the task. As illustrated by the trends depicted by the institute management has done a good job on governance to consolidate the whole institution together. On occasions when the institute has to stipulate its social mandates then management is the key player in that aspect. 9. Conclusion CRANN is one of the international bodies which is moving towards a global science solution approach. According to other related institutions science is making the answers available for problems which used to have no answers. It is not a one step affair but a multistep approach which conveys the right messages across board. With science basically the world is deemed to experience the right protocols of operations which will spur productivity and efficiency hence economic growth. In order for scientific innovations to be successful numerous factors have to be adopted. For example, governance should be the key to right decision makings. Any individual in the production line should look up to that one special figure that coordinates the affairs of that particular company. With proper governance production will definitely be efficient and effective on; this will mean that wastages will immensely be reduced in the environment hence environmental conservation (Prof John Boland- the Art of the Start, 2014). Finally, scientific technology will never thrive where there is no infrastructure; it is within this equipments that dangerous and highly sensitive testing’s done. Laboratories are characterized with very expensive equipments which aid research. Thus, research thrives only in very ideal environments as it will offer a conducive free of disturbance environment. Research is never a one day affair which means that it must occur in stages; consequently the researched material must be stored in an ideal location to avoid hampering the expected results (Prof John Boland- the Art of the Start, 2014).
