Koran requires Muslims to pray 5 times a day – at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and evening (Esposito, 18); the Bible considers prayer as an impromptu communication with God, and therefore not constrained by time or number. Thirdly, the Koran forbids men from wearing gold ornaments, while the Bible does not do so.
The chosen Biblical text for examination is Mark 4:1-9. This text will be examined by using literary criticism. The reason for this choice is the parable chosen. Mark 4:1-9 relates the story of Jesus telling to the story of the sower that went out to sow. Traditional, redaction, and form criticism would not do this parable justice.
It is interesting to note that most people are told of the end of the story before the beginning. Children and adults alike are well versed in what will happen or where they will go when they die. Most of the interpretations agree that the book is an allegorical story not to be taken literally. The book’s entry into the canon was questionable as some believed that it did not belong. But, it made it into the canon and has played an important role in helping the Church decide what paths to take.

Matthew’s gospel in its present form was written in a Jewish milieu, probably after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. There is evidence of the fulfillment of the Mosaic law and also references to violence, to the burning of a city and to punishment in the wake of Jesus’ death. There are the anti-Pharisee and anti-scribe polemic.
Some people are skeptical, however, and they have every right to be. Where’s the proof? It’s only reasonable for thinking human beings not to blindly follow a superstitious notion. Those that align themselves to religion claim to have knowledge of spiritual things when they, of course, do not. The spirit world, by definition, is that which is not of this world.
Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was one of the more worldly individuals of his day, being in charge of several caravans himself at the meeting point of these ancient routes and was himself a product of the various beliefs and knowledge basis of Egypt and the Orient, those same sources that had influenced the Greeks.
Luke and St. Paul are the two prolific writers in the New Testament. Traditionally, Luke, the evangelist is said to be the author of both the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of Apostles. Depending upon the way in which the reader approaches the story, God is presented as an anti-hero, a loving and forgiving diety or an overly demanding spirit, among several other interpretations. This ambiguity is somewhat surprising given that Milton himself set out his goal as being to “justifie the wayes of God to men” (Book I).
Having presented a convincing argument of the many things God does for us, or overlooks for our benefit, the psalmist finishes his psalm confident of the agreement of his audience that God is a good God deserving of plenty of praise and obedience, bringing the psalm back upon himself and reaffirming his own convictions.

The evolution of the Evangelical and Pentecostal Christianity in the modern world can be easily studied by examining its current political, social and religious agendas in those areas of the world where Christianity has maintained its hold; that is, the United Kingdom, United States, and Latin America.
Every human being, at some time or the other in life, contemplates the nature, the creation, on the Creator, on human life, and on his or her own existence. We all wonder why we are here on this earth, who has created us, who is the creator, is there a creator of the creator, is there another universe similar to ours? Most importantly, we wonder who are human beings in the scheme of things.
The author states that another issue the characters face is the extent that religious myth fuels extremism that spreads across the border after the partition. Other religious issues are the Indians treatment of the missionary’s Bible, the issue of marriage between Hindus and Muslims and the perceptions and biases.
Vatican II was one of the great moments in the history of our Church. It marked a time when the Church took a look at where it was and where the world was – and sought to close the gap. The council wasn’t a sudden event; years of changes in the world and years of study among Church leaders and theologians brought us all to this great moment.
If creation is to be taught, it is solely the responsibility of parents and the church because teaching the religious theories of creation in schools not only violates constitutional precepts, it also has the unintended effect of damaging the integrity of the religious point of view.
