Findings Even with all the other social factors kept constant, the nature of the family affects the crime rate for juveniles, with children from a single parent being involved in crimes 12 times more tan children in two-parent families. Strengths The article has borrowed from numerous studies and data sources, including statistics from the Bureau of Justice Statistics Weaknesses The study did not consider the effect of the other social factors, rather opting to keep them constant. Implications for Practice The implications of the article are that there is a need to establish ways of strengthening families, so that divorces and single parenthood can be minimized, which will effectively help address the juvenile delinquency issue. Weaknesses The statistical significance of the study was found to be p< .001, which means that the findings of the study only apply to individuals to those who participated in the study.
