How does my wealth impact my ive well-being? ive well-being is a where people are ed to experiences of quality lives. This includes both emotional and cognitive judgements. Most psychologists identify a definition for happiness as a combination of satisfaction in life and also the relative frequency of both negative and positive effects (Eid, & Larsen, 2008, 657). Additionally, subjective well-being includes moods and also emotions including the evaluations of satisfaction of a given individual with wide and also specific issues in one’s life. The concepts involved with subjective well-being may include positive and negative effects, satisfaction in life and happiness (Headey, & Wooden, 2004, 404). Actually, people still wonder if wealth can buy happiness. Some say yes wealth buys all the happiness in the world while others decline that fact. But what I think is it depends with one’s life to conclude if wealth can buy happiness. Narrowing down to this topic, wealth has so many effects on the subjective well-being. Subjective well-being may be affected both positively and negatively. To my opinion, my wealth can affect my subjective well-being in so many ways. Firstly, my wealth may influence my social status with friends, families and the entire environment. In here my social status can also be affected in two ways, positively or negatively. To start with, my wealth impacts a positive change in my social status since it draws more friends to me. This really works well since who wants to be with someone who is broke? Who want to involve with somebody who has no status? Who wants to deal with somebody who no life? With this in question, no one accepts to be on the negative side. A rich friend befriends a rich friend or something that relates to this. So my money will call my friends over and I will experience the love from both sides. With my wealth, I can go have fun with my friends. This is what friends want and need out from their friends. My wealth will keep my friends coming and it will never push them away. Life is full of happiness when they are surrounded with friends. This all goes on well when friends care for each other and if they are there for each other. Many researchers have stated that money talks and when I have money, many people will fall for me and I will have all the happiness I need. With this in mind, my wealth will have a positive impact on my social status (Praag, Frijters&Carbonell, 2001, 234). To add on, wealth acts is satisfaction to make people who uplifted me to be happy. Specifically, my parents, they will fill proud when they found out that I am wealthy. They will never regret the day they gave birth to me simply because I will make their dreams come true. This means that my parents or the people who brought me up will never regret in giving me the life they gave me. That is when my wealth is at the peak. However what happens when my wealth is low. It all goes wrong when I am kind like poor. This is the time when all friends separate from you. Actually wealthy friends may fear that now that I am poor, I may steal from them so that makes them to move away. Generally, lack of money is the source of many problems. Sickness or diseases may rule my world and never end. Additionally, parents or guardians may at times regret just because of what I am or what they give to me. On general terms, my wealth has an impact on my life in that if I have wealth, I will have many friends and my parents will be proud but if I lack wealth, I will lack friends and my parents will also be regretful. The measures of happiness are great. And there are many indicators that show levels of happiness and well-being. As discussed, if the social status is well dealt with, then the level of happiness or well-being is at better level than when the social status is on a poor range. Since the social status is the major issue that revolves around individuals in the world, then it must be put in to focus. Researches show that the social life of an individual is at peak when he has cash or wealth since everything he/she needs is found at a finger click. That is why I say that my social life will be positively affected when I have my wealth. The most important aspect in my social life is the issue of female companionship. Apart from the general friends that an individual has, he must also have a female companion or a friend. Companionship may lead to marriage if it takes a serious note. However, this particular aspect needs a lot of support before it generally grows out to be a serious thing. For example, for a relationship to grow, a lady has to be served with lots of care. This includes, being taken out for dinners, swims and other activities. Ladies love attention and that is why to keep them you must try to attend to them (Welsch, 2004, 214). With this in mind, I will have to keep my lady because I will have the “authority” to keep her. Here I mean that with wealth, I will attend to all her needs effectively which will make her happy. With all the support and attention that I will be providing to the lady, I will have the chance of keeping her. However, what happens if I lack wealth? How many incidences have happened in that a lady denies a poor person and falls for a wealthy person? Actually, it has happened almost all over the world. Now to ensure that I don’t appear in the list of people who have been denied because of poverty, I must have wealth. Despite the fact that some people say that money does not buy love, it influences love. Actually, love does not buy love but it develops love. At first, a lady falls for somebody out of love but later she denies the person because the person does not manage her on beneficial manner. My wealth has every right to impact on my subjective well-being especially my social life. Apart from the social life, my wealth also impacts on my character. My character does not come from the moral values given. Poverty or wealth is not character but they are factors that define some characters. Starting with characters gained with poverty, poverty influences robbery and dishonesty. This is real in the current world. For einstance a person who has a family. This person needs to fulfil the needs required by the family. These needs may include food, shelter, clothing and other needs(Welsch, 2004, 204). The family needs require a specified income or salary. Food needs money before it is acquired same to clothing and sometimes shelter. Now if this person has no job and money how will he/she fulfil these needs? When the person is pushed to the wall, he/she might involve other methods to acquire money so as to fulfil these needs. This person may be involved in robbery to acquire money. As well know, robbery is an awful act which may lead to conviction in prison if found guilty. Additionally, if someone is convicted in prison because he/she was found stealing, who will take care of the family? Poverty is the only source to crimes in the current world. So what is the general solution to such problems? Wealth is the solution available to the situation. If someone has wealth, his/her family will have a happy life and no crimes would be involved. However, what is the other side of character building involved in wealth. If someone is wealth, some little characters may be gained. These characters include pride, dictatorship and authority. This little characters also matters a lot in life since they determine the social life of an individual. All in all my wealth will determine my character either positively or negatively. Both sides have been discussed and shown how wealth affects the subjective well-being. Despite the fact that wealth has a positive impact on my life, it also has a negative impact on my subjective well-being. Talk of the social life, despite the fact that wealth influences the social life in a positive manner; it also has a negative effect. For example, wealth can be a reason as to why people separate from you. It is not a guarantee that wealth will make people come to you. As stated back, wealth influences the development of certain behaviours such as pride and dictatorship. If I gain pride and dictatorship as my behaviour, friends will move away since they will never want to be dictated nor will they want somebody who has the pride in him. Wealth can be the source of problems or can be the solution to the problems. Now that wealth may make friends move away, the solution is to be average or moderate in owning and showing off the wealth. As well known, not all friends who are near are available out of good deeds. Some of the friends are out to make hell out of you. Some are just near you to spend your money and walk away. Others are out to support you only in good times but leave you to suffer in bad times. Now that money attracts many people, wealth will make me to attract the very enemies in the shade of friends. These enemies will see and ensure my downfall so as they laugh at me which is not good at all. These are just few things that will make life to be a living hell if I have wealth. I may have friends but most of them will be my friends to bring me down. This shows that my wealth is not the only solution to my happiness but it is also the factor that enhances my grief and loneliness which is not good for my subjective well-being. With this in, I can now think of how my wealth can really cause me harm. Itis very hard and very hurting to find that my own wealth brings me tears instead of bringing me joy. It is important to put all sides in to consideration when having a lot of wealth. All it needs is balance between the positive and negative factors of wealth (Strack, Argyle & Schwarz,1991, 112). The other thing involved with the negative impacts of wealth is the idea about character building. Some people are too wealthy in that they wealth lacks something meaningful to be used for. Some people indulge in to useless activities such as gambling, immoral activities such involvement with several women. This occurs when these people are idle and lack something useful to do. This might make them to find themselves in problems such as disease infections or crimes. The most crimes or problems involved with wealth is drug addiction and drug trafficking. Now that no person gets satisfied with the wealth he/she has, some people end up in drug trafficking to get more money. Some end up using the drugs cheating themselves that they are relaxing their body yet they are harming themselves. For example, most wealthy people are associated with cigars, expensive wines and drinks which affect their health and also the environment they live in. with this in mind, my wealth is capable of changing my subjective well-being to a living hell. Actually, the subjective well-being is the most important thing in an individual’s life. One could do anything to ensure that his/her subjective well-being is on a better level. What I can say is that no one should depend on his wealth if he needs to on the better side of his/her subjective well-being. This is because wealth has both the positive and negative effects. It either builds one or devastate .(Bruni&Porta, 2007, 324). References Bruni, L., &Porta, P. L. (2007). Handbook on the economics of happiness. Cheltenham, UK: Edward Elgar. Eid, M., & Larsen, R. J.
