Though there is a need for change, but it cannot be abrupt, the people need to gradually adapt to development changes. Gentrification normally comes with some challenges, therefore, people with higher expectation, but very much disappointed, especially the lower income earners who expect much on the economic gain. These bring more problems to their social life, for instant; they may lack shelter for a long period. In addition, they may have conflicts with the family members. Gentrification sometimes occurs suddenly, without proper consent of the people especially the low income- earnings people; they find it very difficult to adjust with new changes in the new environment. Most of the changes does not favors the initial habitant whose financial capabilities may not adequately meet the new standard in their new environment, for example, they are not able to take their children in that good school, even attend good medication. The low income earners will not be fully satisfied, as they see their rent go up; this will make them dedicate a larger percentage of income in paying rent, therefore, not sufficiently satisfying other needs, such as good health and clothing which are also a basic need. The poor homeowners who see their value of the house deteriorating will have little to do because they will lack cash to do the renovation or even constructing new houses. Generally from the an above negative impacts occurring due to gentrification, it should be highly discouraged so that the poor may enjoy their right without much struggle of meeting the demand of the changes due to gentrification.
