Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that examines the fundamental reality – both visible and non-visible (Perry n.d,). Metaphysics is an indispensable form of rational inquiry. It deals with the cause and composition, deals with the existence of the Universe. Metaphysics is a science that seeks to unite the physical, mental, and the spiritual nature of man; it helps man to overcome the emptiness in his life on Earth.Meditation is one such metaphysical practice that helps people to realize their essential nature, to return to our source (Miller 1996).

Meditation directs us towards the right choice; it helps the intellect to be inspired by the inner self and not by the mind. Chinese, Buddhists, Native Indian Americans, Hindus, and many other cultures have long known and been engaged in the practice of meditation. The fast-paced world has resulted in people having numerous quests. People want to understand the world in which they live. Every individual has an innate desire to find meaning in life (Mohamad, AbdRazak and Mutiu 2011). However, they only try to understand the world that is visible as they believe what is seen as the truth.

Knowing the unseen, the forgotten, the true self is the purpose of human life. This realization can help people lead a healthy, balanced, and well-adapted life. Being engaged in the study of metaphysics has been the motivation to know more about meditation. Meditation is a practice that can help human beings realize their true nature and discover their true selves. We are all metaphysicians by nature. The thought of meditation is inspired by the quest to understand this nature. The purpose of this thesis is to motivate human beings to tread on the path of metaphysics through meditation.

An evaluation of the different perspectives and techniques of meditation could guide the society in selecting the practice relevant to their situation and requirement. Metaphysics derives its name from two Greek words – meta and physics. Meta implies moving higher or towards change or transformation. Physics is the study of forces or qualities, according to Perry. It explains how energy, force, and motion relate to one another.Knowledge of metaphysics can be gathered through two ways – either through rational or scientific thoughts or through intuitive understanding.

Metaphysics is hence an amalgamation of science and spirituality. Perry contends that professional healers including doctors apply metaphysics in dealing with people having emotional and physical disorders. Such metaphysical people use techniques such as clairvoyance (ability to see spirituality), clairaudience (ability to hear spirituality), and intuition. All these help to balance the energy levels and heal the individual.  To heal oneself meditation is the best metaphysical practice.
