Human infants vary in their sensitivity to external stimuli like light and noise, their level of physical activity, adaptability to schedules and similar traits. Traits such as shyness or novelty-seeking are in part determined by the biology of the brain and the genes inherited from parents. Childhood experience occupies much of the portion to ascribe any personality disorder. Various aspects of childhood experience form part of it. People’s relationships are strongly influenced by their early childhood experiences.

Schemas derived from childhood experiences are assimilated in later experiences by earlier schemas. This has well been emphasized in Cognitive-Experiential Self-Theory (CEST). (Epstein, 2003:167). As such childhood experiences have the potentiality both to develop the child’s character and behavior and to retard their development. A worrisome survey tells that above 75% of women incarcerated in the United States are mothers having children below the age of 18years. The psychological impact of these incarcerations in the minds of children has the risk of developing delinquency in them too.

(Kenna & Burstein, 2005: 3)Generational perception Personality development and personality disorders thus form part of the cause and effect chain in which children experience is the previous and successive link. Premarital sex of parents: - the Socially insecure plight of children whose parent had premarital sex is delineated by Chintapalli (2010:12). The emotional trauma experienced by a child when the mother is unable to identify the father is highly painful. The psychological stress on the child due to social rejection builds up anger towards parents.
