Your full June 22, Reaction Paper #3 I have successfully completed the first five stages of Erikson’s psychosocial stages, namely (1) Trust vs. Mistrust (birth to year one), (2) Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt (1-3 years), (4) Initiative vs. Guilt (3-6 years), (4) Industry vs. Inferiority (6-12 years), and (5) Identity vs. Confusion (12-18 years). On stage 1, my parents met all my physical and psychological needs, thus, inculcating in me a sense of trust. On stage 2, my parents gave me autonomy by asking me my preferences in making choices, such as, dress selection. On stage 3, my parents and teachers encouraged me in creativity and presenting new ideas, thus, initiating my innovative instinct. On stage 4, my parents encouraged and appreciated me whenever I achieved a goal. On stage 5, I was confused about identity, but my parents helped me pass thus stage through communication.
Currently, I am at stage 6- Intimacy vs. Isolation (18 -40 years). I can say that I am at this stage because I am 28 years old. A person of this age is supposed to be social and fun-loving. I plan to develop healthy realtionships with my peers and friends. I also would love to get intimate with someone whom I would deem fit as a life partner. I plan to be productive at this stage.
Next steps include the remaining two stages, namely (7) Generativity vs. Stagnation (40-65 years) and (8) Ego Integrity vs. Despair (65+ years). I hope to complete these steps successfully by settling down, starting a family, and becoming productive (stage 7); and, by appreciating myself as a successful person in old age (stage 8). Read More

...? The speech given by Benjamin Freedman talks about what really happened during World War I and World War II and how Jews lied to get nations into the massive wars not only once but twice. He says that both of these tragic wars happened because of the Zionists and how their propaganda to keep their businesses thriving led to killings. It was meant to be an eye-opener for those in the audience as he said that no one believed him the first time that he argued his point in front of people. It was also meant to be a warning to prevent a third World War. Such being his objective, then he has so far succeeded. That he was a former Jew and an insider makes what he is saying believable. There is no doubt that there are things about... The speech...

... Judea Declares War on Germany and Freedman’s Speech It is ironic to learn that certain circumstances in history had happened because people allowed them to. It is very sad to realize that the Holocaust was not mainly an evil act by the Germans; rather, it started as an act of defense against nations that collaborated against it. These are the ideas I have formed after reading two intriguing articles –Judea’s declaration of war against Germany and Freedman’s speech. Thanks to the information superhighway, students like me can access such documents that have historical significance. Upon reading Judea’s move against Germany, I find it strange because what has been impressed upon me is that Germany was always on the offensive side... Judea...

...?Two- Spirits The documentary film Two-Spirits opened my eyes to the knowledge that the Native American Indians have had a far broader understanding of the intricacies of the human gender issue and how to create an all inclusive society for those whom our “modern” society would deem to be different or queer. As I watched the video, I felt a sense of shame regarding the way that we treat our own LGBT community. Native American Indians managed to develop a culture that learned to not only tolerate, but accept that which made these people different as something that actually made them special due to their ability to deliver what society expected for two different genders in one person. It made me think about how far behind our... Spirits The...

...but for others, there would be the absolute intentional presence of it. To put it more plainly, a racist would be defined as, “hatred or intolerance of another race or other races,” (“racist”, p.1). For the Simpson case, “The 133 days of televised courtroom testimony turned countless viewers into Simpson trial junkies,” (Linder, p.1). The insatiable draw of watching the screen, day in and day out, to see the outcome of a trial that many would consider to be one of the biggest of the 20th century. As it stood, “The O.J. Simpson trial was an unprecedented media sensation in the United States. It was also big news in many other parts of the world,” (, 10/3/1995). From a sociological standpoint, these differences...

... How well can the goals commonly associated with incarceration--punishment, deterrence, and incapacitation--also be served by community supervision? As crime rates increase as incarceration rates do in direct proportion, alternative programs are sought to align with correctional objectives for which procedures with incarceration have typically been preferred in the understanding that confinement and execution of related means prove truly efficient on redressing a criminal behavior. However, since modern times have critically shaped lives based appreciably on the economic and political aspects with new conflicts and set of struggles quite distinct from those of the past, current offenders have as well adopted styles and ways... ...A Reaction to ‘The Experience of Space and Time’ by David Harvey By merely observing the events taking place in a society under time and spatial constraints, it does occur that David Harvey has established a remarkable point regarding the phenomenon of time-space compression which he claims to have had significant impact upon the state of postmodern affairs. Even if to many this appears unreadily conspicuous, the idea of progress over time in several aspects of living inevitably shifts the state of thought with reference to dealing with the global economy, culture, socio-political activities, as well as technology and other fields in the process of acquiring the characteristic traits of postmodernity. As the gradual...

... Task: Reaction paper #3 Capitalism is an intricate type society. Just like previous societies, it encompasses a minority of inhabitants snatching away the surplus produced through the toil of the entire society. However, pertinent differences exist. Past rulers seized the surplus while the capitalists obtain it by purchasing people’s capacity to work as Marx referred it to as labor power. The previous classes, moreover, used the surplus to obtain their luxuries, making economic growth to drag (Harman). Capitalist classes, however, have a better initiative with their obtained surplus, as they get it back into investment to augment their production and reap the benefits.
