Disgust Disgust Disgust simply refers to a strong feeling of disapproval. In my opinion, it is an emotional feeling that is aroused by certain stimuli that causes an individual to respond in a revulsion manner. Such a response can be useful because it helps in protecting the body and the soul. Core disgust is a type of response that is revolves around the mouth since it is elicited by the sense of taste. It can be provoked as a result of the contact of offensive body fluids, foods and animals such as flies, maggot and cockroaches.

In case an individual comes into contact with them, disgust should take place because it would help in rejecting them from the body. On the other hand, moral disgust is an emotional response caused by social violations such as moral violations like discrimination, racism, inequality, betrayal, robbery, fraud and theft. These are moral transgressions that need to be protected by such disgusts. If not curbed, they can offend people and disrupt the social order. Personally, I have experienced disgusting situations.

I would like to classify my experience as a moral disgust because it was caused by the contact with a cockroach. One day, I experienced it when a very big cockroach invaded my food. Immediately I saw it, I felt very much disappointed and embarrassed. As a result, I found myself wrinkling my nose, protruding my tongue and widely opening my mouth. I also stopped eating the food immediately thereafter. I could not finish my food because I had lost my appetite. Since my childhood, I have had a negative attitude towards cockroaches.

Personally, I can neither touch, see nor eat the food to which a cockroach has accessed since I believe that such foods are contaminated and not fit for my consumption. This is why I felt disgusted.
