Chad’s Challenging Behavior Appropriate replacement behavior for Chad’s challenging behavior The appropriate replacement behavior for Chad’s challenging behavior is being positive on attention and praise. This is revealed by Chad’s behaviors at different event settings and antecedents. He is observed to respond negatively to events that the teacher fails to show attention, and positively to instances where the teacher praises him and shows attention. For instance he falls out of chair when the teacher walks away but sits quietly when told to do so.
