Psychological Adjustments Psychological Adjustments While understanding psychological changes in a human being, it serves important to comprehend it as both an achievement and a process. Considering it an achievement, professional change refers to the aspect of used to refer to positive mental health. Therefore, as a process, psychological adjustment refers to the approach of relative adaptation by a person to varying environmental conditions (Lindenfield, 2010). The paper, therefore, focuses on a reflection of the psychological changes of the researcher towards adjustments to various life adjustments.
In explaining psychological changes that I use to ensure balances in my life through subjective well-being, contexts, diversity and critical thinking, providing a broad focus on various definitions will prove essential. The first aspect relates to self-concept that that focuses on how different individuals thinks about themselves, perceives and sees their own selves regarding different aspects of life. Development of self-concept in a human being undergoes through two main issues through establishment of the existential self and the categorical self.
The existential self ensures individuals identify themselves as existing as separate entities from others at an earlier stage in life during childhood. Te absolute self, on the other hand occurs after the existential self making children identify themselves as objects like any other in the world thy live in (Morrison and Ruiz, 2012).. the term self-concept varies significantly with self esteem where self esteem refers to the emotional aspect of self creating a perspective of how individuals feel about themselves.
The other point under consideration refers to an identity that amounts to a person’s conception, as well as expression of their affiliations and those of their groups. The affiliations may refer to the national identification, cultural or religious groupings that a particular individual identifies with or has originated from. Stress relates to a condition that leads to psychological disturbances and adequate psychological adjustments ensure an individual reacts positively from stressing situations.
The conditions, that lead to stress, are referred to as stressors that may include unhealthy working conditions, poor learning environment and other unpleasant conditions (Hubley, 2010). Psychologists attribute weight to impact negatively on the health of an individual referring it as a slow serial killer. Coping strategies to stress ranks among the various psychological adjustments processes essential to individual’s life.In order to adjust to the various aspects presented in life, I ensure variety priorities.
First, to balance home, work, academic, social activities, as well as the family relationship, , I guarantee pre-planned time to attend to all the aspects. Planning plays a significant role in ensuring that I attend to all the aspects without failure. Consequently, identification of self and enhancement of self esteem remain essential to adjust to challenging environmental conditions that result from various aspects of life. Current technological changes have brought the varying cultures of different individual groups closer to everyone.
Although I identify myself with a cultural group, I rarely identify myself with the cultural group as it may limit learning more from others. Providing a national or international stand ensures I interact and learn more from various individuals from different cultures providing a platform to learn from each other. Maintaining self esteem remains a significant aspect of ensuring I remain satisfied in different dimensions. Positivity remains an important motivational approach that ensures success even from resulting challenging environment.
