Granted, today, that system is flawed and often taken advantage of by people who do not need aid as greatly as they defraud the government into believing they do. That said the initial system was well-intended, today it is a system that is in need of extreme reform; until then it is actually becoming a burden not a benefit to the country overall.

Is it interesting that ever since the inception of social welfare, the number of poor has only continued to increase; prior to the availability of such aid it was much, much lower.
