Extract of sample "Learning Process"

The learning process is intermingled with memory and the process is continually upgraded and modified throughout the lifespan of an individual. Human beings’ neural processes prolong up to old age, provided that active participation is present in thought processes. It is not easy to understand the neural processes, but through studying continuously all features of learning and memory, there is a better understanding which brings new information. New information presents wider ways of identifying and looking for remedies for dysfunction that make it vital memory not to accumulate new information as it stores the old. Memory and learning relate to one another. Somebody’s memory is a storage section; where whatever is learned is securely kept but easily opened to recall the material. While learning is being able to filter new information gotten through one’s experiences and the information obtained during those experiences. Human beings cannot function on daily basis without learning and memory, since this would lead to forgetting doing of simple things like how to tie one’s own shoes (Andy, 2006).

When we relate memory and learning to the brain, we find that both can come up with a new model of some electrical movements in the routes of various neurons. For instance, for anybody to generate and upgrade their long-term memory, dendrites, and synapses would be created if the structure of neurons changes. This indicates that both work hand in hand. Memory is created through various different experiences. Classical conditioning is an excellent illustration which is a form of acquiring knowledge with a bit of neural stimulus as well as something of neural importance (Wickens,2005).

Learning has a very major impact on our brain. When we are young we learn to get dressed, eat and so on and so forth. We store this information in our memory to keep and train us on how we can live our lives well and morally correct. However there are traumatic experiences which can be held in our memory preventing one to perform a particular task because of haunting thoughts. For example, a raped woman might become celibate or a sex addict because of the terrible experience. She learned that men behave in a certain way and she cannot forget. This demonstrates that learning cannot take place without memory; they are absolutely interdependent (Scott, 2009).
