Extract of sample "Decision-Making and Employee Performance"

Heather was not to blame if the employment committee could have not made assumptions, it could have identified the misfits and incompetence of the recruit.

Employing another person subjected to thorough screening may help rejuvenate and expedite the process in the position as initially happened when occupied by Rebecca. Transferring Heather to another post will involve consulting with her to determine her real interests so that to avoid ruining or compromising her future as would be the case upon the termination of her employment. Retaining Heather will also enable continued implementation of the secretariat tasks though slowly until the end of training of the employee to replace Heather and take charge of the secretariat post.

The decision-making process employed by Christie was sound as it passed through the noble steps of problem-solving. Christie first identified the problem, which was slow performance of Heather in an area that required rapidness. Another problem identified by Christie was the incompetence of Heather to perform the tasks considering that the responsibilities mismatched her experiences. Christie then weighed options that included further training of Heather to see if she would improve, but failed to realize fruits. He then gathered further information about Heather and realized that there was a mismatch between Heather’s experience and their current responsibilities and that Heather was slow to learn and perform optimally (Pina, Rego & Vaccaro, 2014). The next step was made by Christie to make a decision that would recommend that County Clerk Kelly Monden terminate the employment of Heather. However, Christie considered evaluating the decision and realized that employing a new person would demand extra time for training before operations could normalize or improve than before.
