Psychology and Dr. Carl Hart’s, “High Price”, Dr. Carl Hart’s, “High Price”, is a neuroscientist Journey of self-discovery that pauses a challenge to everything we understand about drugs and the society. This book combines science, autobiography and behavioral psychology for the purpose of challenging the existing views of addiction and addicts. Generally, the book discuses much about drugs and their associated impacts which include; addiction, deviant behaviors, mental problems and other real problems experienced by the marginalized people.

Psychology on the other hand is described as the science of behavior. It seeks to study behavior at mental processes. All types of human behaviors are studies in psychology and their associated causes. Drugs can be classified among the common causes of deviant behaviors (Carl Hart 45). In order to understand the aspects of terminologies used in the Dr. Carl Hart’s, “High Price”, we need the original knowledge obtained from the study of psychology. Within the book content, there is the combination of science and the behavioral psychology.

Both of these are terminologies that can be understood better through the study of psychology. Carl Hart is an associate professor in the psychology departments and psychiatry in the University of Columbia. As the author of the book, “High Price”, and a psychologist, Carl Hart has got more to discuss on psychology issues than on other general issues. In order to understand his terminologies, the discussed behaviors and what they initiate, it is vital that we have the required psychological knowledge (Carl Hart 45).
