Evaluation Psychological testing is a psychological field that is defined by the use of behavior samples since it assesses psychological construct that includes cognitive and emotional functioning regarding an individual. The main complex and technical term in the science of psychological testing is the psychometric (Strauss, Sherman, and Spreen 49). Nonetheless, there are numerous types or forms of psychological tests including IQ or the achievement tests, aptitude tests, public safety employment tests, neuropsychological tests, personality tests (objective and projective tests), sexological tests, and direct observation tests.

These tests are vital standard and objective measures the behavior and or mental characteristics of an individual. They are instruments for measuring the unobservable constructs or the latent variables that strongly resemble questionnaires that are also structured to measure unobserved constructs (Strauss, Sherman, and Spreen 225). However, the psychological tests often ask for maximum performance of the respondent while questioners are only concerned with the typical performance; therefore, this paper aims at examining IQ or achievement tests since they directly measure the maximum performance or achievement of an individual.

The IQ tests often aim at measuring the intelligence that may be achieved through achievement tests that unveils the ability of an individual (Strauss, Sherman, and Spreen 263). IQ is a cognitive test that uses measurement tests as a means of referenced tests. The main essence of IQ tests is to obtain real time performance of persons since IQ forms a well articulated and calculated responses that are prescribed and graded according to certain guidelines (Strauss, Sherman, and Spreen 265). Notably, the test results are often compared against norm group responses.

Moreover, the IQ tests often engulf analysis of different areas of an individual performance including verbal, and or non-verbal.
