Gender Differences in Aggression Gender Differences in Aggression Aggression is naturally engraved behavior in humans, however the way people use aggression in their daily life is the point of discussion. The theories explaining the element of aggressive behaviors in males and females are outrageous. Regarding the social perspective of psychology, the aggression behavior of genders varies from situation to situation. Generally men are reported to be more aggressive than women in all the primary perspectives of social psychology.

Specifically in physical aggression, male are dominant while in verbal aggression, females hold the prominent position (Bettencourt & Miller, 1996).(Murray & Nelson, 2010) Culture plays a vital role in human aggressive behavior. The studies depict that socio-culturally; severe aggression takes place when direct confrontation is made. Mostly verbal aggression is used. Resources such as property, land etc. have been core issue of aggressive behaviors and men have been seen more aggressive socio-culturally.

The element of jealousy, revenge and vengeance is found more in women rather than men. Social cognition regarding aggression is apparent in women; however men have clear dominance in it.In the social learning phase, women are examined to be more aggressive than men. In the learning phase, women have precipitant kind of behavior while the study on men reported that men are more patient. Evolutionary imperative depicts that aggressive behavior ensure the survival of humans and continuity in the pool of genes is due to this behavior.
