Evans concluded that while the questionnaire can provide substantial insight into what can make or break a good night’s sleep, there is a vital importance to undergo laboratory studies to fully understand how these factors effect an individual’s sleep. As such, Evans proposes various ideas for additional research in the future. A study needs to be undergone to determine if sleep-onset insomnia and sleep-maintenance insomnia are normal manifestations of severe sleep disturbances. Similarly, further study is required to validate the utility of the subjective parameters of an individual’s sleep. Clinical populations will be required to undergo these studies.
