?Sur Lecturer Concepts of psychology There are various instances in life whereby we are required to apply the knowledge we have acquired in psychology to help us make sense of real life situations. There are many areas in our lives whereby the application of theories of psychology go unnoticed for example in instances such as in business management, health, product design or even in education. Psychology seeks to determine the traits of human psychology that evolve adaptations. This paper seeks to discuss five concepts of psychology: personality, health, cognitive, clinical, and social psychology. Health psychology There are various forms of health psychology that have to be incorporated in such a field of health provision such as the health psychology. This branch of psychology basically concerns itself with the various forms of understanding in regards to the way biology; social context as well as behaviour can have an influence on shaping health or even illness as seen in humans. The professionals that engage in this broad form of psychological undertaking will always work in unison with many other professionals in the field of health so as to achieve the objective of giving out the best form of care that any patient can ever ask for. In my experience in working with the old people in the mental sector of the hospital also required a basic knowledge on the basic ideas that shape the issues from the perspective of the health psychologist especially to assist in the explanations that are necessary for me to understand the patients’ individual situations and to have an idea on how to go about it. The health psychology also seeks to change the kinds of health behaviours to help gain the knowledge on ways that people can apply so as to stay healthy. The health psychologists also have it upon themselves to advocate for the idea that a mental case should be related to the physical conditions and hence they should be treated as one single case rather than to be cared for separately in isolation. Personality psychology According to the personality psychology, psychologists conceptualize traits of an individual because of the selection which depends on frequency, or because of facultative adaptations, or even because of the usual variation around an optimum. In this regard, personality psychology explains my psychology disorder of not able to love or work. This is because personality psychology identifies the commonalities existing in the nature of basic human psychology, or people. My traits of personality are reflected by the variability of inter-individual around an optimum in general, as the inability to work. In the point of view of the psychology, the inference that there are elemental differences among people in their traits of personality shows a conundrum like aspect. In addition, different behavioral morphs predisposed genetically may be represented by personality traits, as well as the frequency of competing strategies of behavior in the entire population that determine alternate strategies of behavior. This is evident in my case with psychology disorder. Personality psychology outlines that heritability concept can be complicated to understand. Nevertheless, from the perspective of psychology, like several other psychological adaptations, personality traits could be seen as facultative: receptive to the emblematic variations within the social environ, most specifically in the period of very early development. Heritability in this perspective of psychology means the differences between people, and not the degree or extent to which individual traits are as a result of genetic and/ or environmental factors. Social psychology In the perspective of psychology, human beings are highly social species, and there are numerous adaptive challenges that are associated with navigation of the social world. For example managing hierarchies, maintaining allies and interacting with out-group members of the society are some of the elements of social psychology. In the point of view of psychology, researchers in the field of evolutionary social psychology have made numerous discoveries concerning the topics studied traditionally by social psychologists, which includes social cognition, person perception, attitudes, emotions, altruism, group dynamics, motivation, leadership, prejudice, cross cultural differences, and intergroup relations. Clinical psychology Clinical psychology, from the perspective of psychology, is an integration of theory, science and clinical knowledge for reasons of understanding, relieving, and preventing psychology based dysfunction or distress and to promote personal development and subjective well-being. This is linked to the several attempts to diagnosis and treatment of my condition which involved prior research by and experience of health care provider. Major to the practice of clinical psychology are the psychotherapy and psychological assessment. However, from the point of view of psychology, clinical psychologists engage as well in teaching, research, consultation, program administration and development, and forensic testimony, similar to the kind of attention that was accorded to me by both my family and the psychologists. In many countries, health care profession regulates clinical psychology. From psychology point of view, clinical psychologists offered psychological testing, psychotherapy, and psychological diagnoses of my psychological disorder. Generally, clinical psychologists are trained in four main theoretical orientations: behavior therapy or cognitive behavior, psychodynamic therapy, systems or family therapy, and humanistic therapy. As put in the psychology, there are recurring tensions in the diverse field of clinical psychology over the extent to which clinical practice need to be limited to empirical research support treatments. In spite of illustrations by evidence that most of the major therapeutic orientations are concerned with equal effectiveness, there is much debate concerning the efficacy of different treatment forms in clinical psychology. In reference to psychology, clinical psychology rarely allies itself with client groups and has the propensity of individualizing problems in order to neglect a broad economic, social and political inequality issues that may not necessarily be the client responsibility. The argument from the perspective of psychology shows that therapeutic practices are bound up inevitably with power inequities that can be used for bad or good. Cognitive psychology From the perspective of psychology, cognitive psychology refers to the internal information processing and internal representations of the world. In the point of view of psychology, cognition is not particularly a general purpose; it uses strategies or heuristics that increase generally the possibility of solving problems that are faced routinely by the present day’s human ancestors. This explains my inability to socialize with people, love, or work. I have been predisposed cognitively to identify incorrectly patterns in random sequences where I was unable to do anything due to my condition. The fallacy of gamblers is a good example of this argument. Gamblers may believe falsely that they hit lucky streak even though every outcome is in real sense random and independent or the trials held previously. From the perspective of psychology, human beings find it easier to make predictions and diagnoses using frequency data than when that same data is presented as percentages or probabilities, presumably because the present day ancestors lived in small tribes relatively in which frequency information was available more readily Conclusion In summary, there are many areas in our lives whereby the application of theories of psychology go unnoticed for example in instances such as in business management, health, product design or even in education. Furthermore, there have been numbers of areas of specialization in the fields of psychology whereby there are various sub branches that are basically applied at individual level as a branch of psychological theory in situations that basically require the attention of the experts as discussed in the paper.
