Psychology and its branches Out of those fifty nine topics that was picked, thirteen or almost 23% of it are referring to psychology in the cognitive field while another 23% pertaining to psychology in the clinical field and majority of the topics that comprises almost 56%, 33 out of the 59, are from the behavioral psychology. Browsing over the topics of over three decades is like walking through a time frame where a person can tell what has been going on during that era and how psychology can be seen among the controversies during those times.

Human behavior is what most people easily think of when psychology is being talked about. The reason why maybe most of the topics that the author have gathered are from behavioral psychology is due to that common notion that psychology is about human behavior—sex, violence, attitude, morals, and not merely a science that can be attributed to medicine—anxiety, stress, autism, Alzheimer’s and other mental health conditions. And another reason can be because humans are constantly behaving through every interaction that a person makes thus human behavior is a never ending topic and discussion in the existence of man.

It is where psychology evolves—in the pursuit of man to truly understand how every person behaves and what are the factors that goes along with these behaviors. The author personal did not find any trend in particular in the coverage of psychological topics during the decades that were studied. But it was evident then that during the 80’s topics were mostly on social psychological behavior issues such as war, crime, drugs, misbehavior and violence. It can be noticed in the table such topics that covers social and psychological problems and the challenges these problems pose in the society as a whole.

Most topics are behavioral in nature; maybe because humans are species of behavior that varies and are unpredictable that mostly comes in clash within a society causing social problems and dilemmas. Topics are almost dealing with the occurrence of psychological problems that offers solution to end the psychological conflict. During the 90’s psychological topics shifted from a lesser burden of social psychological issues and the transition from these dark recovering days of seemingly societal turmoil into the psychology of discovering new ways, innovations, improvements and technological advancement.

Psychology then seems to have shifted to explaining the behaviors of man regarding development and the modern society. Topics then still entails psychological problems such as violence, war, ethical and moral issues but shows the way society is trying to cope with such psychological problems like finding alternative ways and betterment of the psychological problems and issues. The coming of the year 2000 would like to be described by the author of this essay as the emergence of psychological revolution.

Modern day psychology covers a wide angle of better existence. It can be noted from the topics listed that psychological features during the coming of the year 2000 is focused to betterment, improvement, innovations, and solution-oriented topics. Psychology now provides more explanations and answers rather than focusing on the problem alone. It provides better answer to inquiries of the past and seeks even more to provide better solutions. Psychological features seek to improve, find innovations to psychological pro
