Dear Sir/Madam:

In line with my application with The University of British Columbia, I am well aware that I have to comply with the English Language Admission Standard through any of the specifically enumerated eight ways for meeting the requirement. Since my proficiency in the English language need to be completely established after having alleged that I did not meet the prescribed requirements, I am hereby writing this waiver since I strongly affirm that I have the proficiency of a native English speaker as justified below:

• I have dual racial background, being half Saudi and half American in descent (my father is an American); so we speak only English at home;

• I was accepted into another college in the U.S and almost completed a full term there but had to withdraw for various reasons;

• All of previous correspondences with UBC had been through email which were written in English; and also I spoke in English while conversing with duly assigned admission representatives over the phone;

• My transcript and my grades in the English courses that were taken were all A+'s and I was an honor student (copy of transcript of grades are hereby attached);

• My high school applies the dual curriculum school: both English and Arabic; with full American system and full Saudi systems of instructions effectively taught;

• I was the head of the debate team and I won many mock trials which were all communicated and delivered in English.

Should you still require an official letter of recommendation from my school’s English teacher, guidance counsellor, principal, or headmaster, which could attest that level of English proficiency is close to or equal to that of a native speaker, I would be more than willing to provide this, upon your request.

I hope that my application to The University of British Columbia would be processes accordingly. Thank you.
