Download file to see previous pages Later on according to my working performance, the manager promoted me as the new FIC of project C. In such a case, I faced a huge challenge. To expand the edge of my comfort zone, I decided to get over this challenge.
According to the practical situation, I took the active action of preparatory work, which included initially avoiding last-minute surprise to the client. I immediately informed customers of the personnel alteration situation of the team and discussed the implementation time of the project with customers; secondly, I collected customers’ information, demands, and expectations as much as possible, and at the earliest from the executive and previous FIC before his last day. Meanwhile, I communicated with FC of customers to know of any significant changes which could probably affect our audit procedures and timetables for each delivery. Afterward, I organized a team planning meeting to brief our audit strategy and client’s changes from last year; moreover, according to team numbers’ personalities and skills – I assigned them different tasks.
During the implementation process of the project, I found because of the previous leader and some objective factors, the whole team developed a loose working attitude. Consequently, I designed the ‘time-sheet’ for different team numbers according to their professional skills and difficulties of work. I required everyone to record their working detail and time. Compared to before, the new ‘time-sheet’ improved our working efficiency and saved more time. At the same time, to develop their sense of responsibility and belonging about the engagement, I require all team numbers to cross-review other people’s working paper which should be reviewed by the team leader. This reform not only saved time for the review process but also made others since ownership.
On the other hand, I recorded outstanding matters and sent it to the executive and client’s FC so as to keep them abreast of our process and coordination for the outstanding matters; therefore, so that we can avoid misunderstandings and facilitate the work. As a result, because of the excellent performance of the team, customers would like to build long-term cooperation with our company.
