Alternative Energy: Article Critique The article “Will biofuels power tomorrow’s planes?” has been quite informative in highlighting the mega progress made by the Virgin Airlines. It has described how the use of the alternative fuel shall be a breakthrough for the entire world and how all human races shall be free from the dangers of global warming. Inversely, Dowling has also been thoughtful to outline a few threats posed by the invention of biofuels. However, the article seems quite descriptive with no clear objectives.

The writer sees two conflicting ideologies in the use of biofuels and stands right in the middle as he happily watches the struggle. He does not offer any substantive conclusion at the end of it. He leaves his readers with the task of doing more research to establish a middle path for the proponents and opponents of biofuels. The second article, “Farmers Growing Green with Energy”, discusses how some farmers have resorted to animal waste for generation of electricity. In as much the article highlights how a few farmers have benefited from the project, there are a number of shortcomings in the entire research.

The article failed to inform the public on the minimum size of cattle that a farmer requires for minimum electricity production. It did not also give a list and quotation overview of all the required equipment for the project. Most importantly, this article should have highlighted any ethical issues that may arise in this project.
