Men are stronger than women On the case of the comparison of how the men and women are handled at a different place, it is important to note that this kind of discrimination is so common in many offices. One of the factors that make this malware so rampant is that the women are always perceived as weaker human beings who may not perform some duties. This is, therefore, a very sensible reason that puts off the ladies. Gender sensitivity is a very crucial factor that is being propagated by various organizations to make this percolate down to the other lower areas of the society to enhance equal treatment to both men and women (Barbara, 20110.

  In one of the companies in Canada, I had an aunt who pursued a degree in electrical and electronics engineering. In her search for employment, it was so funny in a sad way that she could not be accepted and given chance in the company despite the passes and excellences that she had shown in her credentials. The company argued that women are very sensitive in an organization and that they could be married at any time and thereby getting a leaf and offs for maternal reasons. This was quite devastating and she, therefore, lost the chance because of such kind of perception and thought by the company (Ebony magazine, Vol. 56, No. 1).

Other forms of reasons are as well in favour of the women. It is important to note that some employers would prefer to give employment opportunities to the ladies. These employers are in most case male. They do this with a high expectation that the women would give them certain things in return and in many cases this does be sexual exchange with the women. Under this case, it does be the men who lose when they seek employment in such organizations. There is a friend of mine who lost a job to a woman not that he did not qualify for the job but because the employer had a plan with the woman (Jane 2004).

It is also important to note that certain traditional perceptions, myths, believes and misconceptions have been the major cause of the discrimination that is pressured on the women. For example, it is always perceived that certain jobs cannot be done by women. These are in many cases jobs that are strenuous and consuming much energy (Mustafa 2010). My sister lost a chance in an interview when she went to seek employment in a building and construction firm. This job was perceived and is still assumed that it is only the men who can do these kinds of jobs.

It is important to note that this kind of discrimination can lower the rates of productivity in the country. It is the mind that is applied not the gender (Working Mother magazine Vol. 25, No. 8, 2002). It is important to highlight that even as the parents prepare for their retirement benefits schemes, most of the parents do not include their daughters. This is in many cases with the assumption that the ladies will get married elsewhere (Jane 2004). References Alison, M. (2008).
