My passion for computers has been an integral part of my life right from my childhood, and there has never been any doubt in my mind that my academic pursuits and career in life would be based on this interest. This has made my choice of Computer Science as my graduate and postgraduate major but a natural acknowledgement of my aptitudes and interests. I have thoroughly enjoyed my course of study at the University of Kuwait and am confident that a Doctorate in Computer Science at the University would be the best step I can now take towards furthering my academic career.

Over the course of my college days, I have developed a growing fascination for Information Technology. I am keenly aware of the unlimited possibilities inherent in this field. IT represents the convergence of Computer Science and Business. It is the bridge which connects cutting edge technology and commerce. To me, it is IT which will enable the practical benefits of Computer Science to reach the common man. In this context, I am particularly interested in focusing my future research on Web Technologies, XML and Web Services, Document Engineering and e-Business.

 I see myself in the vanguard of Kuwait’s efforts to harness the power of IT in furthering the development of the national economy. I consider my life-long love of learning and books to be one of my major strengths. I believe that, whatever be the career one chooses in life, the first step towards achieving that goal is the acquisition of knowledge and practical experience in the chosen field. I can think of no better way of gaining a more in-depth exposure to Computer Science and Information Technology, and keeping pace with the very latest developments in the field, than by earning a Doctorate from the University of Kuwait.

I am confident that this will be the opportunity of a lifetime for me to be guided by the best minds in this field and gain valuable insights from my mentors. This is the best way for me to acquire hands-on practical skills in my chosen line of specialization. The other facet of my love of learning is my strong desire to pass on my knowledge to others. I have always enjoyed group study, and find that instructing others is one of the best ways of reinforcing my own knowledge. Teaching stimulates my own interest in a subject and pushes me into a deeper study.

I enjoy the challenge of keeping pace with the latest developments in my subject so that I can always be ready with answers! I love interacting with people, and have strong interpersonal skills. My swimming ability has inculcated in me the values of discipline and team spirit. Coupled with my patience and perseverance, I am confident that these skills will serve me well in my long-time goal of being a lecturer at the University of Kuwait. I strongly believe that a Doctorate in Computer Science (with a specialization in Information Systems) from the University of Kuwait will best equip me for my future career and goals in life.

It will establish a firm foundation for my future career. My aptitude for computers, my love of social interaction and my passion for teaching will be an asset to me in this course. I am confident that this degree will not only give me the technological and theoretical skills I require to round up my academic career, but also give me the opportunity to play a part in making Kuwait a major player in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. It will help me contribute in my own small way towards the welfare of my country and my people.
