I helped a friend of mine to run the local poetry club – a weekly event that sometimes gathered up to 15-17 literature enthusiasts.
Although my contributions cannot be named outstanding, I often try to aid the community by either cleaning the street near my home or giving a few coins to the homeless.
I consider myself a determined and confident person. Facing obstacles, I do not take them as fate but rather immediately start searching for ways of resolving the problem. Sometimes, big challenges seem even intriguing to me. For instance, after having been teased I was not a player for the school soccer team, I worked hard on my technique and physicality to prove otherwise. Eventually, I became the captain.
My brightest example for this question, I suppose, is the last year’s volunteer camp in Colorado. It mixed young people from the USA, Canada, Latin America and Europe in one great cheerful international team that exchanged knowledge about their cultures while helping to improve kids’ facilities in the local kindergarten.
