Complementary & Alternative Therapies/ Retroactive Disorder Table of Contents Table of Contents 2 Complementary and Alternative Therapies 3 Reproductive Disorders 3References 5Complementary and Alternative TherapiesComplementary and alternative therapies refer to such treatments where conventional medicine is used for treatment (Rankin-Box, 2001). In this regard, it can be claimed that with the help of complementary and alternative therapies, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual diseases can be reduced more significantly (Select Committee on Science and Technology, 2000).

Few examples of complementary and alternative therapies include acupuncture, massage therapy, meditation, movement therapies and relaxation techniques among others. Correspondingly, complementary and alternative therapies are observed to have strong influences on the programs associated with the current nursing practices, which has not only proven effective in minimizing costs associated with healthcare, but has also accelerated effectiveness of mainstream medical interventions to deliver better care facilities (Zollman, 2000; Vickers, 1993).

Reproductive DisordersReproductive disorders can be the result of various causes ranging from genetic infertility to sexually transmitted diseases or infections in reproductive organs of patients. In many instances, it has been witnessed that such problems remain unexplored or unidentified, which in turn increases barriers to care delivery processes for both the patients and their family. To be mentioned in this context, patients diagnosed with reproductive disorders are often observed to face isolation and inhibitions from the society as well as their families.

This in turn affects the mental stability of the patients (Bharat & Mahendra, 2007). Thus, care providers have been taking supportive actions to assist the patients and their families in dealing with such problems. A few of these supportive measures can involve generating awareness amid the patients and their family members regarding the disorder and the possible cure facilities available. To deliver adequate support in this regard, various technology based medical facilities are also available today to treat reproductive disorders, about which the patients and their families must be informed.

In addition, patients and their families must be offered with counseling facilities at regular intervals, which will in turn enhance their level of confidence and understanding to the issue (Roy & et. al., 2007; Evens, 2004).
